President’s Welcome Letter

Dear Friends:Welcome to the 84th Convention of the Arkansas Municipal League. As you review your program, you will see the outstanding agenda Don Zimmerman and the League staff have organized. We begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday with “Opioid Addiction: Up Close and Personal,” where Dr. Sam Snodgrass will offer insight into the epidemic that is affecting all of Arkansas. Thursday brings a full day of general sessions featuring excellent speakers and concurrent workshops covering a variety of issues that we face daily in our cities and towns. We’re honored to welcome Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who will address the Convention during the Opening General Session at 8:45 a.m. Thursday. During Thursday’s Awards Luncheon, we’ll recognize municipalities and individuals who have made significant contributions to cities and towns. The Awards and New Officers’ Luncheon on Friday will give us the opportunity to meet the officers who will lead this great organization for the next year. Our host cities, Little Rock and North Little Rock, are excited to welcome everyone to our 84th Convention. Be sure to take advantage of the wonderful restaurants, shops, and attractions the two cities have to offer during your visit. Thank you for attending, and enjoy the League’s 84th Convention. “Great Cities Make a Great State.” #84thAMLConv is going to be great!

Sincerely,

In 2017, our firm led the state in successfully managing the largest number and par amount of negotiated issues. During the same period, Stephens completed a majority of the financial advisory transactions for Arkansas school districts. While 2017 was another good year, we understand it was possible because of the trust and confidence shown by our fellow Arkansans.

We are continually impressed with the talent and dedication of the women and men who manage Arkansas’ municipalities, hospitals, colleges and universities, school districts, state agencies, counties, utility systems and other governmental organizations.
