Security reconfig bug fixed; submitted to SQA
Conducted monthly program review
Shipped 4 routers ahead of plan in support of network
optimization
FW and DCW upgrade scheduled for coming weeks, with procedure insufficiently tested to provide confidence in plan; using encrypted broadcast method. Approach reviewed and approved both internally and externally
Technical risk realized manifested in 2 bug discovery during key reconfig. Cases opened, T IV task created.
SAT start now slipped 6 weeks minimum 4th quarter revenue at risk
Encountered known issues (multiple instances) to L+G but not known to CoServ Program team.

SQA testing
Resource constrained. Using local program resources to assist in testing
Xcel LP businesses processes
Xcel taking longer to determine their LP business processes. Can impact start of LP testing
Delivery of network flags
Xcel insisting on delivery of network flags from server log. Investigating leveraging a report targeted for AE
Focus AL material shortage
Due to meter rework and material shortage in Japan, balance of delivery of Focus AL meters may be delayed. Working with supply chain.

KCPL Smart Grid Program Update June 28, 2011
Deployment Summary Program Highlights
Challenges/ RisksProgram Schedule - Key Milestones
2 collectors and 14 routers – Entire network deployed early
Command Center deployed with geo based routing enabled
Meters to be deployed: 13,876 Focus AXSD & 595 S4e 3G
Meters installed to date – 13939
1500 Tendril Insight In-Home Displays were delivered to KCPL– 751 Have Been Provisioned (564 in Normal Status 187 in Find Pending Status)
Expected to deploy ~100 EcoMeters
Expected to deploy ~2000 TStat Thermostats
KCPL is slowly provisioning the In-Home Displays. There are two main defects – Join Window Closing Prematurely (Critical Issue for KCPL) – defect CQinf00010123 and IHD join even not registering in CC – defect CQinf00010739. Fixes are in Command Center 5.0 – KCPL installed and began testing CC 5.0 on Monday May 16.KCPL is having CC 5.0 installed in production today (6/ 27). They have a copy of CC 5.1 to implement in their test lab environment.
KCPL has identified some meters that are having some outage events and being logged in CC as such, but when KCPL goes out there the customer states there hasn’t been any outages. Also after this, the interval data keeps stopping and starting. These meters were thoroughly investigated in Lafayette and no issues were found. Alpharetta found these meters to be performing as expected. Asked KCPL for additional meters and they have not been able to provide any. If no more – we will close case July 1.
9/03 Entire Network Installed
10/18 Meter Installation Begins
3/18 Meter Installation Complete – Clean Up Remains
4/11Start SAT Testing – Postponed until they have their system upgrade to CC 5.0 or 5.1
6/27 Installing CC 5.0
8/01 Install CC 5.1 in Production
Focus AXSD 5.65 Firmware Delaying Install
All Smart Grid Meters received by the customer.
HAN Implementation in Demonstration Area
Next steps for the HAN is to get the TSTAT thermostat integrated and deployed. Need code fix in CC 5.1 MR1 to get these working properly. Tendril is currently testing CC 5.1 MR1 to see if issues were resolved.
eMeter Integration
KCPL is starting some training and workshops to map out what exactly they want to do with eMeter. Integration to start soon with L+G.

Oncor Program Update May 14, 2011
Deployment Summary Program Highlights
Challenges/ RisksProgram Schedule - Key Milestones
Command Center Scalability IssuesSeries of environment changes have improved performance Load balancer next short term mitigation step – plan impacted by strategy to integrate Data Power appliances
Command Center 5.1 UAT BegunOperational impacts due to firmware changes and manufacturing versions have shifted target for qualification –goal is to stay in sync with mftg; options under evaluationPotential new firmware defect from IPF failures could impact
Reliant (REP) HAN Implementation StartedPerformance poor due to known LG defect (ST07 error)Oncor mitigating operationally; acceptable to REP
2011 orders reduced due to ongoing system issues (scalability, defect list, broadcast limitation, etc.)Q1 2011 meter order reduced by 2/3 (approx 160k)
Orders back to normal; risk remains but low
Operational transition impacted by broadcast limitations (LG requirement for services)
After upcoming FW spread, broadcast testing and implementation to be pursuedLayered routing implementation also in discussion
Two-way communication success rates below expectations and affecting Oncor operations90% success of demand resets impacting business
