1. The City:
Goiânia is a city situated in Goiás State, only 209 km away from Brasília, the National
Capital and not too far from Rio Quente and Caldas Novas, places known for their termal
waters. The population in the city of Goiânia is about 1.500.000 inhabitants, and it’s one of
Brazil’s largest cities. The language spoken in Goiânia is Portuguese, just as in the rest of
the country.

2. The Venue:
The competition will be held in Rio Vermelho Arena, which is located in a central área of the
city.

3. The Hotels:
The hotels will follow the standard required by FISU regulations and will be disclosed later
due to the bidding process, which is a requirement of the Law.
4. Entries Procedures & Deadlines
Entry forms must be submitted in the FISU Online Accreditation according to the procedure
laid down by the Organising Committee and must be received under the following
procedure:
I. Deadline for entry:
Individual sports (including those with concurrent or supporting team events):
i. General entries (engagement of participation) at least six (6) months before the
beginning of the Championship;
ii. Quantitative entries (confirmation of participation) with the number of officials and
participants in each sports event, and with the payment of the deposit of 25% of the
participation fees, at least three (3) months before the beginning of the Championship;
iii. Individual entries (conditions for participation) with the list of competitors and
substitutes, the events to which they will participate and the necessary photographs,
one (1) month before the beginning of the Championship.
II. Entry procedures:
i. Entry forms shall be submitted in the FISU Online Accreditation System to meet the
required entry deadlines;
ii. Entries arriving after the expiration of the required deadlines will not be taken into
consideration, except in the case of circumstances outside one's control, with the
agreement of the Executive Committee and on the advice of the Organising
Committee;
iii. Individual entry forms of athletes from a non-member association must be
countersigned by the concerning NSF or by the NOC, and stamped with a seal from the
said organisation;
iv. The deposit, without any local or international bank fees which guarantees an entry in
the team sports should be in the hands of FISU at the latest five (5) months before the
Championship;
v. The deposit, without any local or international bank fees, which guarantees an entry
for an individual sports should be in the hands of the Organising Committee at the
latest three (3) months before the Championship.
5. Fees/Financial Conditions:
I. FISU registration fees:
FISU shall receive from each competing country the following FISU registration fees:
a) Effective member associations of FISU: twenty Euros (20 EUR) per competitor and
official “with all membership fees payment in order”;
b) Other associations: forty Euros (40 EUR) per competitor and oficial;
FISU registration fees will be charged to the NUSF at the end of the WUC season and an
invoice will be delivered and signed by the Head of Delegation of each participating
country.
II. Travel costs:
The countries shall be responsible for their own cost of travel to the nearest official
point of entry (approved by FISU) of the Championship and return. The designated
airport or other entry point must be approved by the FISU WUC Department.
III. Participation fees:
The competing countries, upon arrival, shall pay their dues for participation fees 70 EUR
per night) and per person to the Organising Committee.
a) Countries entering in individual sports must pay to the Organising Committee three
(3) months before a prepayment of 25% of the participation fees for each athlete and
official registered;
b) Upon their arrival each country must pay the remaining balance to the Executive
Committee;
The Organising Committee, if it so wishes may receive this payment in its own currency
at the official rate of Exchange;
Any partial or complete withdrawal unannounced by a NUSF to the Organising
Committee and the WUC Department or announced less than a week prior to the start
of the competition and causing extra costs to the Organising Committee can be charged
at the price of 70 EUR/night/person.
6. Visa
Make sure to check if you need a Visa before flying to Brazil. If so, please let us know ASAP
just so we can provide you Invitation Letters.
Progress Report 2
1. Currency:
The currency used in Brazil is “REAL” or “REAIS (plural)”. One American Dollar 1U$ is worth
around R$3,30 at the moment. Comparing it to Euros, 1€ is worth around R$4,04. These
numbers can vary daily depending on the market. Visa and Master Card credit cards are well
accepted in nearly every establishment of the country. The rate of exchange will be based on
the daily exchange rate.
2. Eletricity System:
The voltage in Goiânia is 220 V, but make sure to confirm that by the time you get to your
accommodation. You may find different outlet plugins throughout the city, but below you can
find a sample of a typical and most used outlet in the country:
3. Insurance:
Please note that all participating countries need to provide health insurance for your athletes
and official delegates before flying to Brazil.

The official point of entry will be Goiânia (GYN) airport. The Organising Committee will only
manage transportation from the official point of entry. May a delegation can only arrive to
Brasilia airport, please inform the Organising Committee in advance. We may be able to
organise a transportation from Brasilia with a payment of an additional fee.
