Nanoremediation: promising technology which opens a completelynew approach in the remediation of contaminated sites
Recently, new nano and micro particles have been developed:
• much more reactive
• faster degradation of pollutants
• complete reduction to non-toxic products
Technology background:
…but when not properly handled, particle delivery to the targetcontaminated area can be limited by:
ATTACHMENT TO THE SEDIMENTS:poor mobility in the contaminatedaquifer
AGGREGATION: poor nanoparticle stability
Challenges:
