In addition to assisting with design and trial compaction evaluation, Pennine provided assistance with training local staff in equipment use and maintenance. The ten sets of vibro Equipment provided by Pennine included BD300 & BD400 vibroflots, HD225 power packs, Pennine/Landini jetting pumps and various other ancillary equipment. The flots were used to carry out deep compaction within the sand to a depth of 14m, to achieve a relative density of greater than 85%. Vibroflots were the only equipment on this vast project that were capable of compacting the sand to the developer’s stringent requirements.
