General FFPV Nordnes , built in 2001 , and is used for subsea rock installation. Subsea rock installation is an important service that Van Oord has been supplying to the offshore industry for a long time. ‘We were at the cradle of the development of flexible fall pipe vessels and have been the market leader in the North Sea region for almost 30 years.. And is used to apply stones on subsea pipelines and cables. The vessel is planned for major repairs scheduled for 8 th December 2017. The weight of the vessel =25063 GT Dimensions Length overall 166.70 m Breadth overall 26.23 m Moulded depth 14.00 m Draught 10.51 m The vessel is equipped with an accommodation of 50 persons.

1) Schedule Indication of expected ETA & duration of repairs – in dock/ afloat. Description of lead items which will determine the duration in dock – in shipyard]. ETA, is planned for 8-17 December 2017 Duration of the repairs is planned 8 weeks. Excluding sea trails. Biggest job is the renewal of the cargo hold protection plates , and renewal of the striking plates. Modification of the BSC (bucket storage construction) Blasting and the painting of the boom construction. And overhaul of the main engine and AUX engines On the bucket storage container a modification will be applied ,same as Stornes. -BSC specification for details. Enlarge the striking plate in the cargo hold. And painting of the cargo hold The cargo boom will be dismantled and blasted and painted to original spec. Refitting of cables and sensor cabling and E-drive. The BSC will be dismantled , blasted and modified and Painted. Striking plates in holds to be renewed , an extended with double plates of 12 mm. Solidur Tivar blue 88, plating in cargo holds to be renewed. Main engine to be overhauled. Aux generator’s CATERPILLAR to be overhaul Hull painting Rudder maintenance. Deck hatch maintenance Belting system.

Work scoop on conveyor boom Nordnes: Demobilization of boom from ship

1. Electrical disconnection. (Sub-contractor van Oord) Disconnect all cables from ship to boom in a proper manner so that cables can be reused.

• All power cable to conveyor drive unit PS and STB side of boom

• All power cables to hydraulic unit

• All Light cables, PS and SB

• All sensor cables, PS and SB

• Camera cable

• Network cable

2. Hydraulic (Sub-contractor van Oord) Disconnect hydraulic lifting cylinder from boom and withdraw cylinder rod in cylinder house. Let the lifting cylinder hang alongside the C-loop tower. Prevent any damage on cylinder and c-loop house Drain hydraulic unit on boom and disconnect all hoses. Close all hydraulic connection to prevent contamination of the hydraulic oil and hydraulic parts. Remove hydraulic unit from boom base and transport to Hydrauvision for overhaul. (Yard’s assistance required)

3. Boom chute (Yard scope)

Remove the chute and chute support between the c-loop tower and the conveyor belt to create some lifting space for removing the boom. We need

lifting height.

4. Kingpin and swing gear (Yard scope) Remove cover from swing gear from de drive unit

If gear cover and Kingpin cover are removed, the boom can be lift from the Kingpin. Kingpin will stay in its support because the pin is fastened with shock fast orange. We have to fasten the gearwheel so it can’t be turnover during lifting.

If support is removed boom will still be supported by the Kingpin and the big support at the end of the boom.

6. Lifting Boom from ship and store boom at location . (Yard scope) Connect lifting gear on the lifting eyes on top of the boom and lift boom from ship Make lifting plan, and all permits needed for lifting boom. Weight of boom is in documentation. Store boom on supports of 1,5 m height (dock blocks). Lifting points can be find on the drawings and weight of boom is approx 160 ton excl hydraulic lifting cylinder

Alternative for disconnecting boom. (yard scope) Instead of lifting boom from spindle we can reject the boom Pivots (see pictures) and drawing C579630

Left doubler: 1.4 meter x 3.9 mtr thickness = 12mm, S235 mild steel.

Right doubler 1.4 meter X 3.9 mtr thickness =12 mm Under doubler. 1 meter approx. x 5,25mtr thickness =12 mm

Striking plate = 2.45 x 3.9 m +/_ = 22 thick original. (exact dimensions to be determined after

UT measurements). UT measurements of area in vicinity of striking plates to be executed (by Van

Oord sub-contractor)

Renewal is OK to modify to 25 mm. AH 36 steel. All welding to be done before the new lining is to be applied. And all blasting and painting to be finished before the new lining is applied.

Disturbed paint in Ballast tanks to be repair to Hempel Spec. Disturbed paint in fresh water tanks to be repair to Hempel Spec. Cleaning up area when repairs are finished.

Before each bracket had 4 bolts M16 this will be 6 bolts M20, also the plates will be 20mm instead of 16 mm This means that the bottom flange of the support(where it is bolted to the bracket) has to be renewed as well. The support is shaded in the drawing ( 180*100mm) The drawings with all dimensions are included Also the lower forward post is slightly bended and needs some extra reinforcement and if possible straighten again. The extra bar can be decided during repair

DN100 inside WBT 33,35,37,39,41, DN150 inside PWT27H, inside T4, 45 - 1pc DN200 inside void 75 & 76 ALL scupper pipes on PS deck and few on SB to be modified with a sunken sieve. Deep enough to allow the SOPEP-plug to be installed and to reach with you hand to remove rocks. This will prevent future blockages if rocks are washed through the scupper pipes. Cut the pipes at enough distance from below the main deck and insert sieve and reweld the pipes. Sieve same as is now ON deck. Drawings/ documents related: No official dimensions available. Measurements to be taken at location.



As no sufficient documentation is available. The replacement of the speed log is a tailor made job at location. The job includes:

- Opening of the tank.
