ThesisMedia has always been a

contributing factor to bringing information to society. The Hunger Games movie is a great example for displaying the uses of media to give way towards a certain cause, reach out to individuals, to create an illusion to the public. The Hunger Games illustrates these points very clearly to help interpret and reflect on how our society depends on the media and its resources for information, which can in turn create an array of ideas of how people are suppose to feel and react to certain events.

What the media wants, they getIn this movie, media is shown to

control their lives. In order for Katniss and Peeta to survive, they must act upon what they know the audience will love.

In this scene, after Katniss & Peeta Haymitch tells Katniss that she must show that she is fully in love with Peeta.

This displays the fact that media is a controlled environment that our society depends on, and in order to fulfill what an audience wants, they must put up an act that will satisfy their expectations.

Some Quotes from our Sources“What is the hidden purpose of the Control Society? Groups who create crises use definitions of

deviance to cast some people and their behavior as dangerous or bad. In so doing, they increase their power in society by robbing power and choice from others. That is the real reason for the death of moderation” (The Control Society).

“We have put our trust on the media as an authority to give us news, entertainment and education” (Mass Media Influence in Society).

“The media and in particular, the news media have a vast control over what we see, hear, think, learn and know of our world. They are massive, powerful conglomerates – an industry so lucrative that what started out as only a few small bodies and then expanded into an almost infinite amount, was then again swallowed up by the most powerful giants in the news media industry, still under the guise of many bodies acting independently of each other” (How the News Media Controls Society).
