Key Tasks to be done:3D Mech:• Create 3D Mech• Texture the 3D Mech• Create Rig for the 3D Mech• Animation Tests for the 3D Mech• Final Renders of the 3D Mech

3D Environment:• Reference images• Terrain• Castle• Props• Background assets (Skybox, unreachable geometry

etc.)• Textures

Final Animation:• Create plan/storyboard• Combine all assets and creation for final trailer

Current Status of project plan:

Page 4: Project Update

3D Mech:Status: FinishedThe 3D creation of the Mech is finished, the texturing has been completed and it is fully capable of being rigged.

Is there anything left to be done? The Mech could have some final renders for presentation purposes and for the lighting and rendering unit.

Next step:The next for this Mech is to get it into Maya to fully rig it so that it is ready to be animated in the final trailer.

3D Mech Rig:Status: FinishedThe 3D Mech has been fully rigged and is ready to be animated for the animation tests and the final trailer.

Is there anything left to be done?Currently the rig applied to the model has not shown any faults, however during the animation tests there could still be some changes that need to be made.

Next step:Start animation tests in order to find any faults and show the range of movements the Mech is capable of.

Animation Tests:Status: In ProgressFor the animation tests the walking and running animation tests have been created however there are still some required tests to be done.

What is left to be done? The animation tests still left to do are the sneak animation and the jump animation.

Next step:After finishing the animation tests I will then create the animations for the final trailer.

ETA for finishing the task:28/04/2014

3D Environment:Status: In ProgressFor the 3D environment I have created the models for the props, castle, terrain and sea. Problems I have ran into:When creating the castle and other assets based on the references I could find online I made a number of mistakes in accuracy to the original environment. I went to Lindisfarne castle on 17/04/2014 to gather first hand references for the environment and had to start the terrain and castle again based on the new references. The next problem is that my computer has not been working over the past weekend so I was unable to apply textures and have the rest of the objects created.

What is left to be done?I still need to create the skybox and the unreachable geometry and then apply textures to everything.

Next Step:The next step once the environment is to implement it into the final trailer and get some final renders.

Final Animation/Trailer:Status: In ProgressThe progress of the final animation is affected directly by the progress of every other task, so anything that has not been done in previous tasks has not been implemented into this task.

Conclusion:3D Mech:• Model• Texturing• Rig• Animation Tests3D Environment:• Models• Background assets• TexturingFinal Trailer:• Planning• Implementation• Final Render

The 3D Mech has been created and is currently in it’s last stages (final renders and implementation to the final animation). The 3D environment is almost finished and just needs a few bits of scenery and the textures to be applied. The final trailer is currently in the early stages of development but will take off once the tasks before it are done.

In conclusion:As it stands the project will meet the deadline date and to a high standard.
