PROJECT UPDATE - ENABLING WORKS
Pathology
The construction of the new Pathology unit is
nearing completion.
Over the next couple of weeks final work on the
interiors and installation of the lab benching will be
completed, then testing and commissioning of the
new unit will be undertaken prior to handover and
occupation.
PATHOLOGY IS MOVING
Pathology will be relocating to their new unit
over a two week period to ensure that
Pathology remains operational through out
the move. Relocation of Pathology will
commence 06/12/2013 and be completed
by 19/12/2013. Additional information
regarding the relocation will be circulated in
the near future. It is envisaged that staff will be able to visit the new facility prior
to Pathology moving in. Date and times to be confirmed.
Pneumatic Tube System (PTS)
The PTS install in the hospital is now complete. Specimen
send stations are located in the existing ED and in the lobby
area adjacent to theatres on Level 5 Block C (see adjacent
photo). The send station on Level 5 will also have a cupboard
built around the unit with swipe card access for additional
security. Testing and commissioning of the PTS will occur
over the next two weeks however the system will not become
operational until Pathology has fully relocated to the new unit.
Staff training sessions will be arranged and scheduled before the PTS ’goes live’.
