Lighting:These images show the way different magazines use light to present their models/celebritiesESPN uses dark lighting to represent a dark brooding male character.Allure uses bright lighting to represent their model as wholesome and pure – with the likeness of an angel.Time used dark lighting to show that the matter that would be addressed in the magazine would be serious.Vibe also uses dark lighting – the same way ESPN does, to create a tense and serious atmosphere.

Props:These images show the way different magazines use props to draw people to the magazine.Time have used a mask that fits the movie franchise of the actor.Vogue have used a telephone to make people looking at or reading the magazine wonder why the phone has been used.Complex has used an image of Justin Bieber after being attacked’ the piece of meat makes Justin look similar to the rest of the public as they can relate to using something out of the fridge of a bruise/cut rather than an icepack.Vogue again use a prop, this time jewellery – to attract females more likely.
