INSTRUCINSTRUCTORS

DENNIS CRUISEDennis Cruise came to the propane industry from a law enforcement career in Virginia which spanned from 1977-2006. During that period of time Dennis was a DOT Inspections and Hazmat Officer from 1991 – 2006 and has 14 years experience in roadside inspections and compliance with DOT regulations. Dennis also worked as a Hazardous Materials Technician and continues to provide instruction for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Virginia Department of Fire Programs and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. Dennis is recognized by the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and by the West Virginia Fire Commission as an adjunct instructor in Propane Emergencies Training.

TROY BARNETTTroy Barnett is an Arizona native and has lived in Sierra Vista for 50 years. He has worked for Barnett’s Towing and Barnett’s Propane full time since 1981. Troy grew up with the business and rode with his father, Roger, on a regular routine. At the age of 5, Troy had to ride along with some ambulance drivers in the tow truck. No one was available to drive the tow truck. Troy told the driv- ers where and how to hook up the vehicle. As the call was completed Roger arrived and confirmed a proper hook up. He is president of Arizona Professional Towing and Recovery Association. Troy was elected to the Board of Directors and is the current 1st Vice President of the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Troy currently holds a certifica- tion of Level III from the Towing and Recovery Association of America. This Level is Master Tower/Heavy Recovery Specialist. Troy was the first in Arizona to receive this certification. He is also WreckMaster certified Level 45 and was Honored in 2002 for Top Ten WreckMasters of the Year.

MARK HOLLOWAYMark Holloway is Manager of Safety for AmeriGas Propane. He also serves as Fire Chief of the West I-10 Fire Department in Katy, Texas. Mark began his career in transportation in 1983, and has worked in oil field, heavy haul and hazardous materials. In his position as Manager of Safety for AmeriGas, Mark’s responsibilities include regulatory compliance, training/education, accident/ incident Investigation and emergency response. Mark’s background in emergency services includes Fire Service (1987); Emergency Medical Technician B (2000); Emergency Response Specialist (2001); Emergency Medical Dispatcher (2004); Assistant Chief (2006); Fire Chief (2011); and as instructor in varies fields.

STUART FLATOWStuart Flatow is Vice President of Safety and Training for the Propane Education & Research Council. Stuart joined the Propane Council in 2000. As Vice President for Safety & Training, Stuart serves the propane industry by managing the development, distribution, and evaluation of various initiatives related to training and educating the propane workforce, propane consumers, and first responders on propane safety that include a multi-million dollar computer-based workforce training e-Learning program, a comprehensive consumer safety education campaign, and an award winning Propane Emergencies Program geared toward the first responder community.
