The GPS Mapping & Data Collection team collects field information such as roads, buildings, point of

interests, as well as house/lot number, phone numbers and its GPS-referenced latitude and longitude.

These raw data will be converted by the Data Processing & Conversion team before being stored in

the Master GIS Database.

Data Processing & ConversionData Processing & Conversion

Using specialised software, the Data

Processing & Conversion team converts the

raw data into digital maps by drawing the

roads, streets and buildings, and inserting

icons to represent the various points of

interests and facilities. Data such as street

names, building height, phone numbers,

latitude and longitude, and other attributes

are entered as well. The finished digital map

and its data are stored in the Master GIS

Database.
