INTRODUCTION

What is FAME? FAME is the government registered association of DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India) approved AME Colleges. It was formed in 2010, taking into consideration the interest of AME Students & Institutes to achieve high quality training standards and students' welfare. Some of the main objectives of the FAME are:

To enable even flow of technical manpower supplied to aviation industry within regulatory framework of DGCA.

To bridge the gap between airlines, operators and AME Schools.

To improve the awareness in society about the aviation career and opportunities in aviation sector through seminars, publishing of journals and media publications.

To enable expansion of employment opportunities for weaker sections of the society in the aviation sector by undertaking special measures wherever possible.

Work for the advancement / improvement of the society, education, health, prosperity and brotherhood and to do all acts, deeds and things which are beneficial to the society and mankind.

To establish and maintain centre's for academic education, technical training and humanitarian services.

To give, provide and / or render necessary help and assistance to the students of weaker section of the society who are enrolled in the AME Schools and Institutes for completing their educational programs without hindrance.

For helping the passed out AME students for setting up necessary infrastructure for AMOS and in their self employment.

To establish and implement such human welfare schemes as decided by the Governing Body of the Society consistent with the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the applicable law.

With the above aims and objectives, FAME decided to conduct Common Admission Entrance Test (CATAME) to

India's Top 10 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training Schools. It was noticed that some private consultants in

the field are misguiding the students and fetching money on the name of admission. With the intentions of stopping

exploitation of students with the false promise of admission into college, FAME decided to conduct CATAME 2020.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering combined admission test conducted by "Fora of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Institutes is a National level common entrance test to offer admission into Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Institutes, which are approved by Director General of Civil Aviation.

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role in the aviation industry to ensure that aircraft are maintained to the highest standard and laid down by the DGCA, in order to ensure safe and correct functioning during flight. Aircraft maintenance involves the overhaul, repair, inspection or modification of an aircraft or aircraft component.

The aviation and airline industry in India is expected to continue to grow rapidly, and the numbers of modern aircraft flying in India are expected to increase. India is expected to emerge as the third largest aviation market in the next few years. As a direct result, the need for more AME's will continue to be felt even more strongly, as airlines and other aircraft operators will require skilled and licensed aircraft maintenance engineers to maintain and service aircraft

AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) Program at DGCA approved training schools are now as per CAR-147(BASIC). Under this program training schools are approved by DGCA Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India for AME license under various categories. To mention them they are as follows:

The mechanical stream in AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) – 147 (basic) program refers to aircraft structure, airframe and powerplant system

Category B1 Licence : The B1 licence is mechanical based and permits the holder to issue certificates of release to service, following line maintenance on mechanical systems. A Category B1 licence holder also works in base maintenance.

To become an AME of mechanical stream an individual has to undergo ideally 2 years of Academic training to cover CAR 66 syllabus, which includes

1. Turbine powered heavy aircraft (B1.1)

2. Piston engine aircraft above 2000 kg (B1.2)

3. Turbine powered helicopter (B1.3)

4. Piston engine powered helicopter (B1.4)

Each of the above category aircraft has separate specialties and usually covered by separate licensing requirements.

The mechanical stream in AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) – 147 (basic) program refers to Aircraft Electrical System, Instrument System & Radio Navigation System.

Category B2 Licence : The B2 licence is avionic based and permits the holder to issue certificates of release to service, following line maintenance on Avionic Systems. A Category B2 licence holder also works in base maintenance. The B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering licence broadly covers the following areas:

(CATAME 2020)

CATAME is an entrance exam conducted by Fora of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training Institutes for

admission to various training schools in India. All the training schools are approved by Director General of Civil

Aviation, sole authority in India for approval of AME Training Schools in India and Regulatory body to look after

the working of Aviation Organizations in India. FAME will be conducting these entrance examinations every

year at different centers throughout the country. This exam is usually conducted in the month of May/June.

SYLLABUS FOR CATAME 2020

ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

On line Applications are invited from eligible candidates of who are Citizens of India, and Indian Nationals residing in other

countries, for admission into Two years AME program run in various AMEtraining schools associated with FAME.

The minimum academic qualification for admission to AME course is Pass in 10+2, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Candidates having higher qualification are also eligible.

CATAME shall consist of single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each subject i.e.

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total no. of questions will be 120 carrying one mark each. There will be no negative

marking for wrong answer. The questions in the test booklet will be both in Hindi as well as in English. CATAME will be

conducted in the month of May/June at various centers throughout India. It will be conducted in online /offline mode.

June 2020, this year. There will be only Online exam.

On line Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are citizens of India for admission into Two years AME program

run in various training schools associated with FAME. Citizens of Nepal can also apply.

The minimum academic qualification for admission to AME course is pass in 10+2, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

from a Government recognized Board. Candidates having higher qualification are also eligible.

The applications for CATAME will be accepted online only. The process of online submission of application form for CATAME

Date of commencement and closure of filling the online application will be notified through news paper advertisement / Google

advertisements / any other mutually acceptable means of advertisement as decided. Detailed instructions with regards to

filling up of online application form and other related information will be given on the web sites.

EXAM CENTRESAt presents exam centre is planned at 30 centre's throughout country which can be varied depending on number of applications received from particular place.

COUNSELING AND DECLARATION OF CATAME RESULTS

COUNSELING PROCESS

Declaration of Results

CATAME results will be declared latest by Mid June. On declaration of results counseling dates will be announced, which will be

around 25th of June onwards.

1. There would be two main rounds of the counseling in CATAME 2020 followed by one special round in the month of July 2020 except management quota admission. In the first round, candidates would be given allotment of seats based on merit list and choice of candidates for particular training schools.

2. Training schools will be giving the number of seats to be filled through CATAME 2020 as per their willingness. It is suggested to give minimum of 75% of total seats to FAME for getting them filled through CATAME 2020. Schools can fill more seats through CATAME at their discretion.

3. At the beginning of first round, seat matrix will be declared on the website, for the participating college.4. At the end of first round, participating training schools will give status of vacant seats. Seat matrix for the vacant seats at the

end of first counseling will be published on the website.5. Students can apply for upward movement of the training schools as per the fresh choices which they can fill again and

accordingly seats will be allotted. It will be compulsory for the student to report and take admission at allotted training school in the first round for being eligible to participate in second round. Admission fee to be deposited by candidates at the time of admission will be Rs.25000/- only. In case student shifts to other training school in second counseling, admission fee has to be transferred to the second college by the first training school.

6. Time gap between finishing of first round of counseling and starting of second round of counseling will not be more than 5 working days.

7. Total duration of first counseling will be 7 working days only and for second counseling total number of working days will not be more than 5.

8. We plan to do only two counseling sessions. Special round of counseling can be done at the training school level in the month of July.

9. In the second round (Upward Movement), candidates who had their choice exhausted in the first round of allotment OR (b) those who had reported in the allotted institute and opted for Upward movement through CATAME 2020 web portal would be given Upward movement allotment. The candidates who do not report and take admission in the allotted institute after allotment of seat are not eligible for “Upward movement”.

10. The allotment of institute and branch to the candidate will be carried out through the computer software by strictly following the order of merit, seats available and the order of options filled in by the candidate. No correction will be allowed in the Application and college choice form once submitted.

11. No admission shall be made after the date as fixed by convener, CATAME 2020.12. Allotment list will be declared on the web portal only. No separate telephonic communication would be done by CATAME

2020 office regarding allotment/ admission. Selection letter through E.Mail will be sent to candidates. Candidates are advised to visit web portal for latest information regarding the allotment/ admission.

13. The non-receipt of communication to the candidate from convener, CATAME 2020 will not be accepted as a ground for not submitting the college choice form or non-reporting in the allotted institute as per the scheduled.

14. The candidate's allotment shall stand automatically cancelled, if he/she does not report IN-PERSON to the allotted institute as per schedule.

15. For upward movement process, the allotment will be based on the same choices filled in by the candidates previously. The process of upward movements will be carried out online on the basis of candidate's option form and availability of seats.

16. It is reiterated once again that the candidate would be held responsible for any wrong allotment due to any wrong declaration or information given by the candidate.

Admission of the candidate will be provisional till the eligibility/enrollment certificate is issued by the concerned training school.

For the reasons to be recorded in writing, if the convener, AME-CAT2020 suspects that a particular candidate has obtained a certificate by mis-representing or concealing the material facts, the matter will be referred to the competent authority. On receipt of the report, the Chairman, AME-CAT 2020 would take the final decision regarding the admission of the candidate. His / Her admission will be treated as provisional during this period. The decision of the Chairman, for AME-CAT 2020 would be final and binding.

Permission to participate in AME-CAT 2020 counseling shall not guarantee for fulfilling eligibility criteria for admission and only the eligible candidates will be considered for counseling and subsequent admission as per norms.

At the time of reporting in the allotted institute, the candidates will have to show all original documents, certificates and receipt of registration cum application form fee along with provisional seat allotment letter generated by AME-CAT 2020 web portal. The candidate is also required to deposit a self-attested copy of all the documents. The reporting of the candidate would not be accepted in absence of original Aadhar Card/ Aadhar Acknowledgement Receipt or Original Documents. The institute admission authority of the allotted/participating institute would thoroughly check the documents and other required certificates. The designated admission authority of the allotted/participating institute would make arrangements for the online reporting of the candidate at the institute. The candidate should ensure that the “check candidate status” on the AME-CAT2020 web portal (after candidate's login) is displayed as “Reported”. If the admission is granted, the amount deposited by the candidate at the reporting institute in lieu of the fee would be returned/ refunded back by the institute as per the guidelines of AICTE, New Delhi, if candidate wishes to withdrawn his admission. AICTE guidelines are fully authenticated guidelines in cases of fee refunds. Copy of the same can be provided on demand.

Candidates shall carry the following documents at the time of reporting to the allotted institute:· Printout of provisional seat allotment letter taken from the CATAME-2020 web portal using their login details. Candidate

should paste their recent color photographs on the Application cum Registration form with one additional colored photograph with them.

· Aadhar Card/ Aadhar Acknowledgement Receipt.· Class X (High School) Board Marksheet/ Certificate as proof of date of birth.· Mark sheet of class 12 PCM (for Subjects) or Three year Diploma certificate in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical and

Electronics.· Medical Fitness Certificate from a MBBS doctor as per DGCA format.· Admission Fee Rs 25000/- to be deposited at the Institute.

The original documents will be retained by the respective training schools for verification and computer number allotment from DGCA.
