Black Star Farms is nestled among vineyards and orchards on a working horse farm in the Leelanau

Peninsula wine country. Our venue is located just minutes from northern Michigan’s beautiful sand

beaches, quaint villages and Traverse City attractions. We offer casual upscale dining featuring fresh local

ingredients from our own farm at our Hearth and Vine Café and award winning wines at our tasting room.

Guest can enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our ten guest suites while staying at the Inn included with a Chef

prepared breakfast and complimentary hospitality hour.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Site Options

Our vineyard site offers a stunning backdrop and view of West Grand

Traverse Bay.

The stone patio off the Inn

provides a very private

setting within the woods.

Indoor Wedding Ceremony Site Options

We are able to host the most intimate of ceremonies up to larger celebrations with our indoor site

options. The largest of indoor event spaces are offered in the Aquarius Room at the Inn and in our

centennial Pegasus Barn. We accommodate up to 150 guest for your special event. We are able to plan

for an outdoor wedding ceremony and move indoors due to inclement weather.

Arcturos room This charming space is perfect for any intimate ceremony or reception dinner to large cocktail social that

offers a bar with two candle lit marble fireplaces.

When the weather is nice, guest can enjoy being outside on the covered patio off the back of the Inn with

views of our beautiful perennial garden. Our favorite little hide away to host a rehearsal dinner!

Aquarius room The largest of our event spaces inside the Inn of Black Star Farms. This room sets up beautifully for an

indoor ceremony or reception dinner with large white pillars framing the room and a very neutral palette. We

have a dance floor that can be positioned anywhere in the room to accommodate dancing the night away.

($200 for use of the dance floor includes setup)

Pegasus Barn This beautiful centennial barn is the perfect backdrop to any ceremony or reception. Enjoy cocktails on the

back patio overlooking the horse pastures or while enjoying the warmth of a fire under a starry night in the

courtyard or a game of horseshoes.

Elopement for under 10 guest If you’re looking to keep things more intimate, we can help!

Select a ceremony site from the vineyard, Arcturos room, the Inn marble foyer or back

patio with gardens.

We will include one bottle of our sparkling wine (BeDazzled or

Delighted) to toast the happy couple with a charcuterie or cheese

board.

Pricing for Elopement Package $500.00 Sunday –Thursday or $750 Friday & Saturday (non-peak season dates only)

What Black Star Farms provides when you reserve your wedding day at our venue

Complete guidance for all on-site details and catering is offered throughout the entire planning process with our catering and conference services team. We will work with you on planning for set-up of ceremony and reception. The day of your wedding you receive our staff’s full attention to make sure the details of your special day are attended to.

Set-up and Cleanup of both ceremony and reception are planned with you and our team. We are happy to offer suggestions with additional set up plans you may have.

Tables and Chairs within our inventory, white linens with napkin options, battery operated tea lights, glassware and plate settings are included with your facility fee.

Outside vendors are not included under facility fees – we will coordinate with your vendors for deliveries of items like flowers, cake, and music services. We will supply you with a complete listing of our preferred vendors upon booking including officiates, photographers, florists, shuttles, videographers, off site-lodging, ceremony musicians, disc jockeys, live music, cake makers, etc. You are welcome to use your

own vendors as long as their contact information is provided to the on-site catering and conferences services team member for your event.

Food Services and Catering:

Catering food and beverage cost are not included in facility fees quoted. All food items purchased or consumed by your attendees at Black Star Farms must be supplied and prepared by Black Star Farms. We are happy to provide you with our catering menu and coordinate a tasting for you to sample selections to be offered at your event.

Our average cost per guest for cocktail hour and dinner service starts at $50.00-$95.00.

Plates and silverware for your catered event is covered in your facility fees.

Service staff professionals for catering services are provided by Black Star Farms at additional service fees on all food catering.

Beverage Services:

All wine used during the special event must be supplied and served by Black Star Farms; outside wine is not allowed by law. Any liquor and/or beer must be supplied by the host and service of such beverages is exclusively limited to Black Star Farms. The host can provide any beer or spirits for the event if you would like to have this service available. We will provide a quote for costs which are subject to costs that cover your garnishes and mixers that Black Star Farms will provide for your cocktail options.

All wine served must be purchased from Black Star Farms.

A service fee is added to all beverage products that Black Star Farms provides to pay for your bartenders.

We have all the needed equipment for cooling and glassware for serving beverages for your event that is covered in your catering and facility fees.

We will provide a quote if you need ice for kegs and additional beverage set ups.
