Partnership

Proviplast® PLS Green is a range of newly developed bio-based PVC plasticizers and is suited for a wide range of applications. Proviron and Petrom have partnered to introduce “green” plasticizers made from renewable resources, providing our customers with an alternative to phthalate plasticizers and a “better” carbon footprint. This development is a perfect match with Proviron’s mission to be a global supplier of renewable and sustainable solutions for your PVC based products. Independent laboratories have confirmed the excellent performance of the Proviplast® PLS Green plasticizers in a wide range of products, such as stretchable films, shoe soles, hoses, toys, laminates and coated fabrics as well as in wires and cables.

In this document, Proviplast® PLS Green is compared to conventional and alternative products used for the plasticization of PVC.

The resin, plasticizer and additives where dry-blended. Test plaques were evaluated with respect to their hardness, extraction resistance (soapy water, heptane and vegetable oil), volatility and tensile properties and aging.

The Proviplast® PLS Green product line is a safe alterna-tive. It allows customers to use their actual formulation and processing parameters with little or no change com-pared to conventional plasticizers.

Compared to other bio-based plasticizers currently avail-able on the market, Proviplast PLS Green is less volatile

during processing, enabling a lower phr of the product in plastic and thus ensuring a cost efficient end product.

Additionally, high thermal stability and excellent flexibility characteristics at low temperatures are additional benefits for compounds formulated with Proviplast® PLS Green.
