One of 3R (REUSE—RECYCLE—RECOVER) Solution to Environment is ELECTROCOAGULATION UNIT, in common wastewater treatment services—the uses of chemicals is quite often and sometimes become a must. Electrocoagulation Unit is combining and completing the WWT Unit to enhance their effluent quality as well as reducing their cost operation and avoid any chemicals deposited sludge. OKURA CARBONIZER BACKGROUND PT EnviroMate Technology International

OKURA CARBONIZER is evaporator unit which utilizes lower temperature and negative operating pres-sure in order to avoid any potential harmful and danger releases material or particulates such as DIOXIN during their evaporating system. OKURA CARBONIZER is adapted and re-manufacturing by PT EnviroMate Technology International un-der OKADORA Japan Technology which is available to proceed wide range of waste:

The following are the type of Solid Waste that is available to proceed using OKURA EVAPORATOR. This OKURA machines is also known as CARBONIZER, where besides evaporating the moisture content of the waste—it is also convert all organics content into carbon. Converting waste to carbon known to be resources recov-ery activity that the residue is

then be further proceed in Cement Co Processing or other thermal activity that requires carbon as their main source of energy.

The following scheme is the uses of OKURA or OKADORA Carbonizer utilizing the ex-cessive heat from exhausted gas. The stream of hot gases is then compressed into outside chamber of OKURA machines and then creates heat transfer that enable the liquid or solid to be carbonized. This method is has been implemented worldwidely to enhance waste management.

WASTE CO PROCESSING is the use of byproducts from one industrial process as fuel or raw material substi-tute for another process. These byproducts are referred to as alternative fuels (AF) and raw materials (ARM) or AFR. Industries for which co-processing is applicable include: • Cement manufacturing • Thermal power industry • Steel industry • Lime production • Ceramics, bricks, glas Before WASTE MATERIAL can be absorbed by WASTE CO PROCESSOR, the waste shall be converted into most homogen, consistent and consisting high content of mineral or calorific value. The facility of converting the waste is called PLATFORM or PRE PROCESSOR. In Indonesia PRE PROCESSOR Facility is developed early 2008 and is PT Rekayasa Energy Integrated (REI) which is located at Kawasan Industri Sentul—Bogor. REI is capable to convert the waste into their most valu-able and homogen/consistent form of Alternative Fuel Material (AFM) and Alternative Raw Material (ARM). The products of AFM and ARM is then delivered to the industry that is able to absorb and use as their Fuels or Raw Materials, recently Cement Factory and Large Power Plant Facilities are the type of Waste Co Processor which having a legality based of performing such services.

PT REI is responsible to pre processing waste material and convert the waste into HOMOGEN, CONSISTENT, HIGH CALORIFIC or HIGH MINERAL so that the Waste Co Processing (Cement Factory, Power Plant, Lime Production, Steel Processing, Ceramics Plant) are able to accept without any rejection.

The scheme is now implemented by KLH as authority of regulat-ing body to encourage party for better environmental manage-ment system in Indonesia. Many of years, Industry do not have any better alternative other than waste disposal or landfill. In several countries, Landfill is limited since creates problems when the landfill is full. Monitor-ing of gas deposit (Flammable and toxic Methane Gas) and monitoring of leachate pollutant from rain fall is a must. For many of countries in the world, Landfill was initially picked up as solution to environment when industry did not know where to throw or even recovery their waste materials. Reuse—Recycle—Recovery (3R) Solution is widely used for most Environmentally advanced Mod-ern Nation and Country.

The reason of implementation of 3R Solution for Waste Management is to implementing their Community Development, Clean Development Program as well as Sustainable Development Program. The picture is showing how 3R Solution for used Tyre plays important role in destroying used tyres in Japan. Used Tyres contains high calorific value that can replaced coal as main fossil fuels. Waste Management Hierarchy

Avoidance or prevention of waste is the ideal solution. This can be achieved only through a strict product policy that en-sures that certain materials do not appear as residues at all. Minimization or reduction of waste, in particular by the appli-cation of the cleaner production concept or changes in con-sumer habits related to packaging. Recovery of waste material by means of direct recycling and reuse of primary materials (metal to metal or paper to paper). It also includes other technologies like composting or anaero-bic digestion. Co-processing – recovery of energy and materials from waste as a substitute for fossil energy and virgin raw materials. Incineration is primarily a disposal technology and employed to reduce waste volumes. It can also recover some energy, but not material.

Chemical-physical pre-treatment is a procedure to stabilize waste materials before final disposal. Controlled landfilling is the common method for the final disposal of non-recyclable waste. Uncontrolled burning and dumping, often accompanied by open burning or uncontrolled dumping, is still the most common method of waste disposal in developing countries, where it poses a major threat to natural re-sources and human health. This form of waste disposal should be avoided. Any waste management scheme or concept should consider this waste hierarchy. Whenever possible, waste should be avoided or used for energy and material recovery, as from the ecological and economical point of view this is the most appropriate solution for any kind of industry.

I. DISPOSAL OF CASTING SAND / SLUDGE DRYER—PT TOYOTA MOTOR MFG INDONESIA (TMMIN)

Toyota Motor Mfg Indonesia is the manufacturer of automobile is generating the waste of casting (CASTING SAND) as and exceed of casting activity. After benchmarking and long evaluation, TMMIN decided for treat-ing and disposing the waste—using AFR Co Processing due to their Corporate Policy for Zero Direct Landfill. The waste amount is about 150-180 ton permonth including the ex-ceed of waste from Karawang and Sunter 1 Plant of their WWT Plant Unit. With ETI the waste is directly delivered to PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk as well as PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa Tbk under PerMenKLH No 02 Thn 2008..

II. DISPOSAL OF CANDY / CONFECTIONARY—PT PERFETTI VAN MELLE INDONESIA

The waste from PT Perfetti Van Melle is not Hazardous Waste or B3 waste. The waste from PVM is the product that is expired or rejected from the market. The AFR solution gives insur-ance of the complete disposal of this rejected products. The customer can directly see and watch how their waste products is inserted into the system that directly burn and destroy the material made from plastics and organics sugar, milk, choco-lates etc. This method has been applied within years.

III. DISPOSAL OF PCB SCRAP—PT HITACHI CHEMICALS (KYOSHA INDONESIA)

PCB or printed circuit board frame is by products from PCB Manufacturing company. PCB is made from the laminated paper and pressed. PCB with its construction is currently has a large heat value (GCV) between 5000—6000 Kcal/Kg or close to the heat of coal. With the operational pre treatment performed by PT Rekayasa Energy Integrated the material is shredded and crushed into smallest piece that is

enable fire to burn directly and complete destruction as Alternative Fuel Materials. This PCB Boards is outside list of waste material regulated under KepMen KLH 331 and 342 Thn 2008 so the application is no longer directly delivered to Cement Factory or other facility but always using PT REI services. List of Waste Material under KepMen KLH No 331 and 342 Thn 2007 are: FLY ASH, BOTTOM ASH, WET FLY ASH, ASH VALLEY (from coal incineration) DUST EAF, IRON SCALE, IRON CONCENTRATE, IRON SLAG, COPPER SLAG (Metal Processing) OIL SLUDGE, SLOPE OIL (Oil Related Process) SLUDGE WWTP Industrial Estate, SLUDGE IPAL Pulp & Paper Industry ALL THIS WASTE MATERIAL CAN BE DIRECTLY DELIVERED TO CEMENT FACTORY
