Top tips! Use the planning sheet to make you think about a wide range of things.

Think about the type of engagement you want to participate in - is there a department who could help with this? Can you link in to existing networks?

Simplify your research and make it relevant to the children - consider the academic ability of the group and curriculum need for specific content.

Make activities practical and hands on. Talk less, DO MORE!

Find out whether you will be working with students who might have support needs.

Let the school know what will happen and provide your own contact details.

Be prepared for the school to ask about risk assessments/COSSH/ DBS’s for students – Make sure you have these.

Consider evaluation in the planning of the activity.

Make sure you have all the resources you need.
