For the past few months Rachel has been working with me, tackling loads of local issues, including things like the crossing over the railway and the graffiti in the underpass on Reading Road. “Now you have the chance to elect her as another hard- working councillor for Emmbrook, to serve alongside me. “Rachel is just as keen, dedicated and determined to make a difference as I am. “Please vote for Rachel on 2 nd May. She will stand up for you and do her absolute best for everyone in Emmbrook.” Lib Dem candidate for Emmbrook Rachel Bishop-Firth says, “I got involved in local politics when I saw the difference that Imogen Shepherd-DuBey makes as a Councillor in our area. I want to tackle the issues which Wokingham faces including the rise in anti-social behaviour, the need for better roads and affordable housing, and spiraling council debt. I’m seriously concerned by the level of council borrowing. We believe that the cost of the town centre regeneration is now over £2,000 for every household in the Borough. That’s only one part of the total debt, which is now forecast to reach as much as £600 million! To make it worse, the council is spending £100 million speculating on property, not just locally but across the country. I want to challenge this recklessness. We need the council to fight harder for more money for schools, and against building on green spaces. The status quo is not good enough. It’s time to demand better for our area. Please give me the opportunity to work alongside Imogen in representing you and doing what is in the best interests of our community. Thank you!” Rachel Bishop-Firth Lib Dem candidate for Wokingham Borough Council Rachel lives in Emmbrook with her family. Her children went to local schools.
