In the ancient past Thales of Miletus discovered the electrostatic charge of amber and thereby unconsciously laid the foundation for the exploration of a natural phenomenon, which over the centuries has changed the world – electricity.

Through inventions, like the lightning-conductor in 1752, or the precursor of the battery in 1800 the lives of mankind have become more carefree and safer.

Power Electronics: Our REOTRON power controllers and DC power supplies find their diverse application areas primarily in the industrial sector. Whether it is providing controlled power for heating or electro-coating plants or industrial furnaces in the steel and shipbuilding industries – the individual REOTRON systems guarantee quality, if the power is to be adjusted for resistive and inductive loads.

Motor Control Technology: When it comes to preventing torque induced stresses in gearboxes, clutches or chain drives, connecting electric motors to machines, or controlling the starting speed of motors, we offer VAREOSOFT and VAREOTRON; efficient solutions which completely fulfil the needs of this market.

Communications Electronics: Today, one cannot envisage having machines used in industrial production without remote monitoring. REODATA is our response to today‘s requirements, in particular for vibratory feeder engineering, with a range that is continually expanding. Optimism through prosperity

In 1925, the year our company was founded, cinemas and theatres were in their heyday. These novel forms of entertainment attracted enthusiastic crowds to fixed facilities in cities. We were on hand to assist with the auditorium lighting and arc-lamp ballast-resistors and so profited by the burgeoning film industry.

Optimism – which other country does this word apply to more than China today? Again, REO is in the midst of affairs and with our experience we are able to participate in major projects. For example, our test equipment for ensuring the safety of the high-speed train built for the Olympics in 2008 operating between Beijing and Tianjin.

Whatever the future may bring, REO has its finger on the pulse, and also the vision to handle large projects or new technologies. With developments for renewable energy and power quality, we are already participating in a sustained action by all of us to provide a secure future for generations to come.

Using our specialist expertise, each new component will be developed taking into account every possible aspect of use, ease of manufacture as well as performance and longevity.

This is evident from our Centre of Competence for Rail Technology in Berlin, our development department for power quality and testing systems and also our electronics development in Solingen – we are always searching for new application areas and new technologies, which we can develop as leaders in technology.

New ideas are always emerging from our innovative development and the efficient combination of our electronic and inductive expertise, such as the power source combined with power quality components for growing crystals that are used for the production of solar cells.

Regarding the growth of the electronics industry it is said that you need young people, employed in junior positions, to bring new ideas and momentum to an enterprise. Through continuous training and education, in the future we will continue to overcome new challenges and to calculate electro-technical innovations.
