Rick Gillis Job! 3 Steps to Your Next This is the workshop for those who are currently seeking employment; are considering seeking new employment as well as anyone currently employed who wants to learn how to “secure their career” and keep their options open—now and into the future. Fundamentally, Rick Gillis will teach you how to speak to and present the value you bring to an organization. Bottom line? Rick will teach you how to compete!

“Job search is the highest form of competition.”

Based on his new book of the same title, Rick will be taking attendees through the process of taking a professional and personal inventory for the purpose of preparing for all employment eventualities. This exercise is in line with the use and creation of Rick’s Accomplishments-Based resume format designed to make the hiring professional “like you” as well as successfully navigate the obstacle of resume filtering software used by virtually all major employers today.

For the first time Rick will be directing a mini Accomplish-ments Workshop within the day-long presentation. This is the same “mandatory” exercise that Rick provides to his individual clients.

Lisa DiTullio Master The Matrix Wouldn’t it be great if your success depended upon meeting the needs of only one primary stakeholder? In today’s complex environment, you must meet the needs of many to deliver successful projects. Today’s matrix environment requires you to ignore traditional linear management structures and boldly navigate the enterprise to achieve results.

This seminar provides a road map for how to successfully navigate any matrix environment.

Conquer the interface challenges by knowing:• The basics: How organizational structures have evolved

over time• What works: The advantages and disadvantages of matrix

organizations• How to employ the Three C’s: Communication, Commitment and Cooperation• When and how to “push back” to get ahead

This highly-interactive session includes small group activities, interactive discussions, case studies, self-assessments and pragmatic approaches to achieving results.

Kevin Cullen All Aboard – Setting Sail with a Full Ship Often we think of communication as being a one-way street – transmitting information from point A to point B. Today’s business world calls for influencing action through engaging employees and stakeholders up, down, across and outside your organization.

Gaining stakeholder buy-in at the beginning of your project pays huge dividends along the way. Your stakeholders want to know where you are going, how you plan to get there and what is the impact along the way. How you address these three fundamental questions has everything to do with how you are perceived as a leader and whether you succeed or not.

The clearer you articulate your goals, plans, and commitment, the more successfully you will engage others to help you make the journey. Accomplishing this allows them to step from the “dock” and board the “ship“ as a participant ready to chart the seas.

In this very interactive session you will learn and practice a proven methodology to design and deliver a powerful and effective Leadership Message. The skill you’ll gain in this session will last you your entire career.

Joe Lukas Achieving Excellence in Managing Project Risks This 1-day workshop is specifically designed for Project Managers and project team members looking to achieve excellence in managing project risks. How often are your projects impacted by unanticipated events? Do you find yourself constantly ‘putting out fires’ on your projects? This 1-day workshop will improve your ability to identify and manage the opportunities and threats on your projects. Become proactive rather than reactive by learning an effective risk management process including best practices for risk identification, risk analysis and risk response planning.

This course will cover the elements needed for successful risk management, and the common mistakes made by Project Managers. Effective methods for identifying risks will be discussed. Qualitative risk analysis tools and techniques will be presented. Successful planning methods for responding to potential risk events will be reviewed. Application of risk management to project budgets, schedules and contracting strategies will be described using specific examples. This course will be highly interactive, with exercises and sample problems to allow attendees to practice the tools and techniques presented during the course. Attend this workshop and learn how to achieve excellence in managing the risks on your projects!

Lance Dacy Agile Product Development with Scrum You will discover what Agile Product Development with Scrum really is and how it can benefit you, your team, and your projects by streamlining steps how to effectively implement Scrum, exactly when to apply Scrum, when to apply traditional project management methods, and when to effectively use a blended version of both.

You will learn the characteristics and benefits of Scrum and gain an overview of Agile Product Development with Scrum. Included are the details of planning and executing a Scrum as well as the culture change required to implement Scrum. In addition, you gain an overview of Scrum tools, Scrum organizations and your next steps to implement Scrum.

You view a real life Scrum project and the real challenges and successes faced. The issues of organizational cultures and the suitability of Agile Scrum for specific cultures are discussed with challenges from an organizational perspective in implementing Scrum.

Tony Johnson PMO Success Strategies As project and program management becomes a requirement for business, results and success organization of it becomes a major factor as well. It’s not enough today to hire and grow PMPs and PgMPs. An organization needs to align how it does project and program management as a company to maximize its competitive advantage and profits.

Creating a PMO (Project/Program Management Office) is a challenging task as it often goes to the roots of the organization to create the necessary change for the desired results. Impact can include employees, tools and infrastructure, vendors, partners, and customers of the company creating the PMO.

LUNCHEON KEYNOTEKevin CullenThe “Sweet Spot” for Excellence: The Winning Combination of Leadership and Project Management

An increasing number of organizations are facing an unpleasant reality: project managers are expected to step up and be defacto change agents. However, lead-ing change calls for quality leadership ability while project management often places an emphasis on developing “hard skills”. Success requires seamlessly combining both skill sets to deliver excellence.

Benefits:

• Gain clarity and understand the difference between leadership and project management

• Discover the three essential components of leadership and how they apply

• Learn key success factors for uniting project manage-ment and leadership skills

• Apply the key elements of a practical business case to your organization.

LUNCHEON KEYNOTEBarbee DavisExcellence: Chasing the Shifting Target

Project managers are like sharks. We have to keep swimming to keep alive in a constantly evolving workplace. In this keynote we’ll look at the shift from defining excellence as merely meeting schedule, budget, and quality metrics.

Shifts in the consumer base, in technology, and in marketing strategy, plus the success of agile methods mean we must move out of our traditional project management sweet spot and adjust our project approach to chase the shifting target of excellence. Here’s how to start.
