putting multimedia exhibits in the palm of your hand
DESCRIPTION
Rachael Clark and Damecia Donahue, both librarians at Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan, delivered this presentation at the 2012 Michigan Library Association Conference, Loud Librarian: Defining Ourselves and Our Profession. The presentation looks at the many opportunities libraries have to incorporate themes, such as Black History Month and Subject of the Month, to connect users with library materials and present them in inspiring, fun and exciting ways for both librarians and users. It also includes an introduction to the different types of technology used by our communities, including Smartphones and web applications, and how they can be used to accomplish library and collection-related goals to provide a unique user experience. The presenters demonstrate facets of successful collaboration within the library to successfully bring Multimedia Exhibit projects to fruition. Best practices related to marketing and outreach to user communities are addressed.TRANSCRIPT
