Target audience The target audience for my magazine was 13-19 year old girls, also they are the type

of people who like typically mainstream artists, such as boybands, girlbands and other top selling chart artists. As my target audience is all girls I decided to use a very girly colour scheme to suit their tastes, but it also means that it fits into the genre of the magazine. Typically my target audience normally pay around £2.50-£3.50 for a magazine so I want to try and price my own magazine somewhere along these lines.

Inspiration I felt that I would need to mirror some of the codes and conventions used on

magazines of the same genre as this would mean that it fits in with the genre and suits the target audience. Keeping my magazine within the normal codes and conventions of a POP magazine means that normal readers of different POP magazines will recognise the genre of the magazine and be interestedd to find out more. It would also mean that it appeals to my target audience and will help me make my magazine more suited to my target audience.

They both have a similar colour scheme, using girly colours such as pink.

They both use a variety of both images and text.

The language used is slang, so that it sits the target audience.

Sans Serif text is used as it suits the genre of being a POP text. On both covers the title’s are in their own text and this text is not used anywhere else on the magazine.

Both have 3 columns, this is so that the features are evenly spread out an aren’t too big or too small, this is also conventional as it means that it looks clean and is easy for the reader to read.

The style of the language used is slang, and very short words this is so that it suits the target audience.

The use of colour is the same colour scheme as used on the front cover, this is so that even if the contents page was apart from the magazine you would still be able to tell which magazine it had come from.

Both magazine contents pages use images which are direct mode of address, this grabs the readers attention and makes them feel as if it’s personal to them and makes them want to read more.
