Much of the public commentary on environmental matters is almost entirely negative - whether it's about alerting people to impending environmental disasters or it’s arguing that the people doing the alerting are politically motivated and the problems they talk about are grossly exaggerated. Studying political and social thought allows us to bypass mere negativity and polarizing arguments by examining various theories. This class will concentrate on political theories related to environmental problems, with a further concentration on the world’s food production. This course counts for elective credit in the Natural Resources/Environmental Sciences secondary major course and is part of the Society and Environment track! Dr. Laurie Johnson MWF - 10:30-11:20
