Convention ObjectivesThe main objectives of convention are:• To sharpen the horns of participating teams and optimizing the performance.• Gaining and sustaining high team motivation standards and results.• To enhance the creativity of participants through Poster, Slogan and Poem competition.• To provide opportunity to freely express and share their Kaizen efforts.• Adjudging best teams from different sectors as per QCFI norms for nomination to national
convention-2013 to be held at Kolkata.• To felicitate the participating teams by presenting the mementos in three categories i.e. Gold,
Silver & Bronze
Why should organisations participate in the convention?Convention enables organisations to employ a range of different techniques for improving qualityand reducing operating cost through their innovative & constructive efforts. QCFI, HaridwarChapter will provide the platform to participating teams to showcase and share theirachievements towards the continuous improvement. Quality Improvement Teams, CrossFunctional Teams, Team oriented Problem Solving Groups are all about people working together.Organisations are requested to encourage teams to participate in the convention & to learn qualityimprovement experiences through implementation of other quality concepts like TPM, TPS, 5S,Lean Quality Circle, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, SMED, BPR etc.
Each team participating in the convention will have a wider exposure towards its benefits forindividual growth as well as mutual and lateral learning, associated with group activities inmanufacturing and services sectors including banks and financial institutions, hospitals,administrations offices and educational institutions.
Presentations by Quality Circle and teams using allied conceptsPresentation will be conducted in parallel sessions. The case studies should be for an improvementdone in between 1st August 2012 to 31st July 2013, presentation at the convention will be onmultimedia. Team should make necessary arrangement for required software (like power point,required font for Hindi) copied in a CD/ Pen Drive.
The QC presentation can be made either in Hindi or English. The entire presentation shall becompleted within the time prescribed.
Prescribed time for presentations:• Total time of presentation allotted to a team will be 15 minutes.• The alarm will be rung twice, first bell at 12 minutes and final bell at 15 minutes.• After that 3 minutes are for question and answer. Questions will be asked by judges only.• 2 minutes for change over.
Reporting time for Presentation:The Quality Circle Teams must report at their presentation hall at least 30 minutes before thepresentation.
Knowledge Test:Knowledge test is optional, whereas teams are advised to participate for learning as this test will bemandatory at National Convention.The marks obtained in this test will not be added to the result but will be communicated toparticipating teams through their organisation. Each opting team will be given one question paper.Max Marks will be 20 and the time allowed will be 20 minutes.
On the spot- Poster, Slogan and Poem Competition:To encourage the creativity and artistic calibre of the participants these competitions will be held.The best three in each category will be awarded.
Industrial tourIndustrial tour, for the interested teams, shall be arranged on 2nd September 2013
