I am happy to note that once again our Editorial Board is bringing out QIS RAYS depicting

the activities of yester academic year. In the present scenario, the software industry relays on

skilled engineers completely. I advised the students to focus on communication skills and

core disciplines to get through the placements. There are more job opportunities but the

students require seriousness and have a goal right from the beginning of the course.

In order to continuously enhance and upgrade the quality of education, QIS institutions work

on the principle of social transformation through dynamic education.

The academic performance and campus recruitment of the students are quite satisfactory. I

am proud to inform that a good number of students have been placed in reputed MNCs in the

yester semester. Mechanical Department has been recognized as a Research center by

JNTUK for students’ projects. Research culture is consistently increasing in the campus.

At the outset, I congratulate QIS RAYS Editorial Board for bringing out a wonderful

Newsletter. The institution is striving in imparting skills both theoretical with the latest

expertise in the respective fields of Engineering and Technology.

I feel happy to note that students of QISCET have won winners and runners’ prizes, medals

and certificates in sports, games and National Level Tech Fests. Many workshops, Guest

Lectures and QIS FEST-2015 have been organized effectively in the semester. The Institute

is moving ahead with certain parameters to attain quality. We hope the best to come in

A Two Day National workshop on Cloud Computing was organized in collaboration with IIT,Bhuvaneshwar and IFC on 7th& 8th February 2015. The resource person of the workshop was Sri Manish Kumar, IIT, Bhuvaneshwar. More than 250 students of B.Tech , M.Tech and MCA students participated in the workshop. Training on Cloud computing, Big Data and Virtualization was given to the students.

It is indeed creditable that QIS Mechanical Branch has been recognized as a research centre for students’ projects by JNTUK. Students’innovative projects, higher qualification of the faculty members of the department and Thermal and Bio diesel Smoke analysis machines were the significant things for getting the recognition.

students at the workshop

A Two Day workshop on Computer Design was organized on 19-03-15. The resource person of the programme was Smt.Rajavarthini, Computer Design Expert, Centre for Ca d Solutions, Hyderabad. About 150 students from First year CIVIL and ME branches attended the work shop. The expert has shown how to use computer designs, 2D and 3D designs in making the designs of machines.

WATER-The Elixir of Life With two thirds of the earth's surface covered by water and the human body consisting of 75 percent of it, it is evidently clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for life on earth. Water circulates through the land just as it does through the human body, transporting, dissolving, replenishing nutrients and organic matter, while carrying away waste material. Further in the body, it regulates the activities of fluids, tissues, cells, lymph, blood and glandular secretions. An average adult body contains 42 litres of water and with just a small loss of 2.7 litres he or she can suffer from dehydration, displaying symptoms of irritability, fatigue, nervousness, dizziness, weakness, headaches and consequently reach a state of pathology. Dr F. Batmanghelidj, in his book 'your body's many cries for water', gives a wonderful essay on water and its vital role in the health of a water 'starved' society. He writes: "Since the 'water' we drink provides for cell function and its volume requirements, the decrease in our daily water intake affects the efficiency of cell activity........as a result chronic dehydration causes symptoms that equal disease..."
