CLEAR SPACE REQUIREMENTS

To ensure the legibility of the logo, it must be surrounded with a minimum amount of clearspace. This isolates the logo from competing elements such as photography, text or background patterns that may detract attention and lessen the overall impact. Using the logo in a consistent manner across all applications helps to both establish and reinforce immediate recognition of the QP Medical brand. The provided artwork must be used at all times.

The clearspace minimum is equivalent to the horizontal length (shown here as x) and the vertical height (shown here as y) of the first three letters of the “medical” wordmark, regardless of the size at which the logo is reproduced.

Using the logo in a consistent manner across all applications helps to both establish and reinforce immediate recognition of the QP Medical brand.

For stationary, the logo must appear no smaller than 1.25” wide on all envelopes and letterhead. The logo must not appear wider than 0.625” on business cards.

For advertising, all full page, 1/2 page and 1/4 page ads must use the logo no smaller than 1.25” wide.

For standard web banner sizes (ie. 300 x 250 pixels, 728 x 90, 160 x 600) use a logo that is no smaller than 80 pixels wide.

Use these rules in conjunction with those of logo clearspace to ensure maximum visual impact.

The QP Medical logo is a unique piece of artwork. The proportion and arrangement of the wordmark have been specifically determined.

The logo must be used as provided and can not be modified under any circumstances without permission.

Logo CoLoUR APPL ICATIoN

There are three colour versions of the QP Medical logo. Context, contrast with regard to background colour, surrounding imagery and production parameters all should be considered when choosing the appropriate logo. An entirely black or white version has been provided for those instances where the logo must print in a single colour.

Logo USAgE gUIDEL INES

To ensure a consistent and appropriate brand identity, a general set of guidelines for logo usage is outlined as follows.

1. No elements of the logo artwork may be recreated, deleted, cropped, or reconfigured. All logo artwork is provided as Adobe Illustrator based EPS.

2. A minimum clearspace must be maintained on the perimeter surrounding logo artwork as outlined on Logo Clearspace page. Must use the artwork provided.

3. Logo artwork must be uniformly scaled. Non-uniform scaling distorts the proportions of artwork and the relationship between the icons and letterforms.

4. Logo artwork should always appear upright.

5. EPS files are vector artwork and are infinitely scal-able, thus eliminating the need to ensure proper resolution for the purpose of reproduction.

6. Logo artwork should appear against a solid back-ground to ensure maximum and proper contrast.

7. Logo artwork may only be reproduced directly from a digital file. It should never be reproduced from previously printed materials.

8. Do not put a white box around the logo when placed on a dark background and do not repro-duce the logo in colors other than those specified in these guidelines.

Logo USAgE - DoN’TS

1. Don’t change the logo’s orientation.

2. Don’t bevel or emboss the logo.

3. Don’t crop the logo in any way.

4. Don’t add “glow” effects to the logo.

5. Don’t present the logo in “outline only” fashion.

6. Don’t outline the logo in any color.

7. Don’t reconfigure or change the size or placement of any logo elements.

8. Don’t place the logo on a busy photograph or pattern.

9. Don’t change the logo colors.

10. Don’t place the logo on similarly-colored backgrounds.

11. Don’t present the logo on “vibrating” colored backgrounds.

12. Don’t add “drop shadow” effects to the logo.

13. Don’t put a white box around the logo when placed on a dark or busy background.

14. Don’t stretch or squeeze the logo to distort proportions.

15. Don’t recreate elements or replace with something else.

It is in best practice to prepare a 1” x 1” grid with increments of 4 x 4 when setting up a layout.

PHoTogRAPHY

Always choose photography that has a point of view. we want to demonstrate that we are behind what we do and are conscious of our clients needs. The photos must always evoke a positive response.

be conscious of composition and use of colour. Tones should be muted and complementary to our brand.

Photography must be a minimum of 300 dpi at the size expected to print to maintain integrity of the photos.

PRoDUCT PHoTogRAPHY

when using product shots, be sure they are set on a clean, white background. Do not use a textured or coloured background as this will cause interference – our products are the main focus.

Ensure sure that the product fills the shot. A product shot from a distance will ultimately be difficult to work with.

Products must be lit appropriately. There should be no shadows cast on the front of the product.
