ABC tool: animations that show how each letter in the English alphabet is written, listen to the correct pronunciation of the words, record yourself, and compare pronunciation to a native speaker.

Grammar tool: displays vocabulary as it is used in grammatical contexts in the course. You can listen to their use in context, and hear the way they are spoken.

Speaking Lab: Learners listen to a native speaker and then record yourself saying phrases. The speech recognition engine displays a graph which will show you your level of accuracy compared to the native speaker.

Lexicon lists all new vocabulary words. Has a translation into learner’s support language, and an example in English according to the way the word is used in the program. You can also hear the word pronounced.

Grammar tool: explanations of the meaning and form of grammatical structures, examples of the structures, additional exercises

Speech tool: focuses on intonation, stress, and rhythm in pronunciation. Learners listen to the different aspects of pronunciation, and use the markings to help them pronounce correctly.

Language Use tool: list of the different language functions at these levels, with explanations and examples.

Lexicon: all of the new vocabulary words at these levels, the part of speech, a translation into learners’ support language, and a definition in English, audio

Speaking Lab: As in level 1, with words and phrases from this level

Irregular Verbs tool: irregular verbs in their base form, past tense form, and their past participle.

Word Families tool a root word and all of the words in the program that are based on that root. You can also listen to them to hear how their pronunciation changes as prefixes and suffixes are added.

Vocabulary Tips tool suggests diverse strategies to help you figure out the meaning of a new word, and gives you examples of each strategy.

Comprehension Tips provides strategies and skill-building techniques to help you understand what you read and listen to in the program, including both explanations and examples for each tip.

Formative: Each online lesson provides multiple practice activities, enabling students to immediately check their answers to gauge their progress.

Summative: Each level of Quartet culminates in an Achievement Test assessing student mastery of the vocabulary and language points covered in that level.
