The Queen's Gate Consort is an exciting new Chamber Ensemble incorporating
string quartet with solo voice.
The talented performers, Ruth Henning-Lincoln, Cara O'Reilly, Fiona Gibbs, Aled
Jones and Michael Cobb are all professionally trained musicians based in London,
UK. The Consort performers share a love of live and engaging musical performance
designed to please the most discerning listener.
This experienced ensemble will add elegance and warmth your wedding or civil
partnership. Private and corporate events are a speciality. Just name your function

Queen’s Gate Consort
RUTH HENNING-LINCOLN - SOPRANO
Ruth Henning-Lincoln began her music
career in Australia. Educated at the
Queensland Conservatorium of Music
between 1993 and 2007 she completed a
Diploma of Music, Postgraduate in Opera
Performance and a Masters in Music Studies,
where she placed in the top 10% of the
course. During this time she was awarded numerous scholarships, bursaries and
prizes including the Wagner Award 2007 and represented in the final of the Dame
Joan Sutherland competition 2006
From 1999 to 2009 Ruth worked as a chorus member for the state opera company,
Opera Queensland in over 20 productions spanning opera, orchestral concerts and
records for the ABC. Her own freelance career involved independent operatic
companies such as Underground Opera and playing Ciesca in Puccini's Gianni
Schicchi's, concert recital such as soprano soloist for Brahms Deutsche Requiem
and numerous Jazz and modern music style collaborations.
Since moving to the UK late 2009 Ruth has gained chorus work with Raymond
Gubbay's production of Madam Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall and continues a
busy career as a freelance artist.
CARA O’REILLY - VIOLIN
Originally from Australia, Cara studied at the
Queensland Conservatorium of Music,
Griffith University with Alan Smith where she
received her Bachelor of Music in
Performance. She also has an Associate of
Music, Australia (AMusA), Diploma.
In London, Cara studied with renowned pedagogue Simon Fischer before starting
her private tutoring and school teaching. Cara has performed on a variety of stages
including being a member of the Queensland Pops Orchestra. She has worked in
collaboration with Opera Australia and performed as part of Monty Python’s ‘He’s
Not the Messiah’ with Eric Idle. Cara loves performing with other musicians and
creating great music.
FIONA GIBBS - VIOLIN
Fiona Gibbs, read Music at King’s College,
London gaining her Bachelor’s degree in
2009 and her Master’s degree in 2010.
Whilst at King’s she studied violin with Erik
Houston and aside from her individual
recitals she also performed with a number
of chamber ensembles and orchestras.
Now studying for a Ph.D. at the Royal College of Music in London, Fiona performs
frequently with chamber groups at concerts and events and also with several
orchestras. Alongside her studies Fiona teaches violin, piano, recorder and music
theory privately and at a number of schools in North West London. She also tutors
musicology and has had work published by musicalcriticism.com

ALED JONES - VIOLA
Aled is originally from Burton upon Trent and
studied at the Royal Welsh College Of Music
and Drama being awarded with a BMus in
performance in 2008. Aled then went on to
continue his studies at postgraduate level at
the Royal College of Music, London under Jon
Thorne (Badka Quartet). His professional
training encompassed both masterclasses and coaching with such eminent players
as the Chilingirian Quartet, Eroica Quartet, Simon Rowland-Jones and Lawrence
Power.
Recently, Aled was invited to play in the orchestra for the annual Menuhin Violin
Competition opening gala concert, playing under the batons of Maxim Vengerov
and Paul Watkins (with Joshua Bell as soloist). Aled has worked with many world
class conductors and directors including Diego Masson, Gordan Nikolitch, and
Roger Norrington.
MICHAEL COBB
Michael is a freelance cellist and conductor
living and working in central London.
Originally from Wiltshire, Michael studied
the cello under Elizabeth Anderson before
commencing university studies in music at
Royal Holloway University of London. Under
the direction of both Erik Levi and Levon
Parikian, Michael substantially developed his two musical interests, cello and
conducting, and since graduating has been using these skills to great success in the
professional world. Michael also engaged in ensemble training with members of
the Barbican Trio whilst at Royal Holloway and played in several other chamber
groups.
Michael has performed in venues such as London’s Cadogan Hall, St John’s Smith
Square and the William Walton Festival in Ischia, Italy. He recently returned from
touring china performing at the Opera House in Nanhai and in the city of Hong
Kong. Michael has also performed regularly at the renowned Wiltshire Music
Centre and Malmesbury Abbey.

THE CEREMONY
The most special part of the day! From the minute your guest arrive Queen's Gate
Consort create a beautiful and intimate atmosphere for your wedding. Working
closely with you, we will tailor the perfect music for the arrival of your guests
through to the entrance of the bride, the signing of the register and the exit of the
bridal party. As part of our personalised experience, we will discuss with you your
exact wishes to make your day as personal and unique as you are.
THE RECEPTION
The ensemble is suited to many different settings for your reception and relish in
the opportunity to play outside in beautiful surroundings (weather permitting!).
With a clear understanding of your wishes, we will put together a personalised
repertoire list incorporating your favourite songs and pieces. We will use our wealth
of experience to perfectly complement the mood and atmosphere of your guests
and setting.
The ensemble have a wide range of repertoire in varying styles to suit all tastes.
Our flexible approach to music making means that we can tailor the music to
perfectly compliment the atmosphere and wishes of you and your guests. Our full
repertoire list follows to give an idea of the music we can provide. If you have any
