2. HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT

PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

Page 2: Question 2

In my magazine I feel that I have represented ages between 18-30 as well as many others. Due to my market research, I found out that these age groups read the most dance music magazine, l isten to dance music consistently and go to dance music festivals consistently. This refl ects my target audience as they are in this age group. The lifestyle that these have is very much ‘go with the fl ow’ and a very lavish party people. In addition to this the interests they have is very much going out doing physical activities and watching TV. The dress style they have is very much fashionable and up to date in their style, also they would shop at branches such as TopMan, River Island, etc. The aspirations that these age group have is very much being a successful person in the future and have a happy life but in the mean time they would have some fun whilst achieving their aspirations.

My magazine is aimed to appeal to 18-30 year old males and females.

The male/female target audience would: Enjoy socialising and partying with friends Go to group holidays to party at Ibiza and etc Buy clothes and alcohol more than food Only go on holidays to countries where they can get a tan Living off a loan One of my main aims in creating this dance music magazine was to represent the target audience and my particular social group.

My media magazine represents my fans which is a social group. This was meant to be like that because looking at other mixmag magazines (my inspiration), it always represented the fans. My dance music magazine was related to the fans at all times, and it also had stories and articles that fans would love to read and hear.

My music magazine product clearly puts out messages about artists that they are role models for other upcoming artists/DJ and also for others. In addition to this, my dance music magazine represents this particular social group (artists/DJs) in a way that they are icons/ role models for others and also that what they have become now is because of hard graft they had to pull in to make themselves successful in not just Djing but in everything else.
