How did you attract/address your audience?

Page 2: Question 5

I have attracted my target audience to my magazine through the use of new and young artists. This is because teenagers, especially those interested in career in the music industry, will be able to connect with the artist, making them more likely to understand the artist’s situation and therefore this makes the teenage population more likely to buy this magazine as it is something that they can potentially relate to.

One way in which I as able to address my audience is through the use of informal text. This addresses my target audience as it makes them feel as if they are part of the interview in the magazine, and therefore the audience are more likely to enjoy reading the magazine as a result of this. This is why I made my main article informal because, being very word based, being of an informal structure keeps the reader interested and feeling as if the artist is speaking directly to them.

I was able to attract my target audience, the social group of teenagers because of the clothing that the featured artists are wearing. This is because the clothing worn by my featured artists is fashionable to a teenage audience as well as suiting the genre of my music magazine because of the plaid shirts, which are generically related to country and western music.

My magazine has a consistent colour scheme of red, black and white throughout. This consistent colour scheme helps to attract my audience because of the colours chosen. This is because black, white and red are very bold and stand out colours which will therefore catch the target audience’s attention.

In conclusion I was able to attract my audience through certain features such as the consistent colour scheme, and fashion. I was also able to address my audience through the informal language used for the double page spread and through the use of young artists of which the audience are able to relate to because of their age.
