USE

Question One

The main conventions which I took for creating my front cover for the Digipak are the bright colours and block letters for the band name OMG as I felt that these looked aesthetically pleasing and will attract the target audience.

Question One

USE The conventions I established from Katy Perry’s insert in her digipak are that it is very bright which will attract the target audience and this is a convention I wanted to use on my insert because I felt like it will appeal to the target audience as I discovered from my questionnaire their favourite colour is pink.

DEVELOP

Question One

A convention which I took from Little Mix’s front cover of their Digipak is the split screen effect, however I developed this to positioning the performers in the way they are in the music video without the lines down the middle as this makes it feel as if they are more of a group.

DEVELOPA convention I wanted to challenge on my insert of my digipak was having an image on every side, as I felt like it was a bit over powering for the target audience, therefore on my insert I wrote the song lyrics and added images from our music video and other sides of the digipak.

CHALLENGE

Question One

When looking into the conventions of a digipak I decided to try and challenge them to make my front cover more unique, I done this by making the background more complicates and having a larger image.

Question One

CHALLENGEA convention I wanted to challenge when making my insert for the digipak is making it less formal and sophisticated as I feel that the target audience are more likely to be attracted to the bright colours rather than a lot of write and dull colours. The band name and song name are put around the edge of the digipak to remind the audience and attract them.

Summary of DIGIPAK

From researching into the conventions of digipaks on already existing products in the POP genre I wanted to use some of them as they would make it look professional and like a real digipak, however I wanted to make it unique and original so developed and challenged some of the conventions.

I am now going to look into the conventions I used, developed and

challenged from my Poster

Question One

USE The conventions I wanted to use from the POP genre posters are the direct address, block colour behind the writing and how colourful it is. I chose these qualities because the direct address makes it seem more personal to the audience, the block colour makes it seem professional and the colours appeal to the audience. I feel that these conventions worked well on my poster.

Question One

DEVELOP The conventions I feel like I have developed on my poster from real ones from the POP genre is having the CD on the poster and using in a different position and writing about it drawing the audience in, as well as the poses as I felt that they were too provocative for my target audiences age.

Question One

CHALLENGE The convention I wanted to challenge when making my poster was the type of shot used, as on most POP posters they use a close up or mid shot however I wanted to use a long shot to give it a feeling of being more of a group.

Summary of POSTERThere are many different conventions I researched into when creating my poster to try and make it seem like a real, professional poster however there were quite a few different conventions I wanted to develop and challenge to make it original and suit our group and target audience.
