Hello. My name in Nupur Sashti and I am the Executive Director of Data Management and Reporting at the Tennessee Department of Education.
What is the TN State Report Card?

The Tennessee Department of Education releases an annual Report
Card on Tennessee schools.
The Report Card includes information on demographics, achievement,
attendance, graduation rate and more.
The user can view the data state-wide, or by a specific district or school.

Why a State Report Card?

Why do we have a State Report Card? Simply put, it is to fulfill a federal requirement. But, more importantly it is a creative and impactful way to deliver important information to our stakeholders about schools and districts in Tennessee.
Similar to the student report redesign for TNReady, the Report Card redesign aims to better convey information at the school and district level in a way that is easy to understand.

Similar to the TN Ready parent reports, The Report Card is has been re-designed in 2016 to allow for better delivery of the information presented. The goal is to create a report card that is easy to understand and digest for our educational stakeholders.

This is the home page of the new TN State Report Card. The first button allows the user to visit the report card data. The second button leads the user to the community guide which has general information about the report card. The third button leads the user to additional resources which allows the user to dig deeper into the information provided. These buttons are available across all the pages. Now let’s see where the first button leads.

This is the state page of the New TN State Report Card and gives the user state level information about our TN Students. Multicolor graphics as well as text has been added to provide context around each piece of information.

Additionally, the user can select a school or district to learn more about that specific school or district. Once they select a district, the user will be guided to the district page.

The district page consists of 2 pages. The first you see here- gives profile information about the students of that district. Similar multicolor graphics and text has been added to provide context around each piece of information.
