(B) Arrange the 4 half square triangle units in 2 rows as shown, sew. Join the rows.

(C) Trim the block using the 6" Block guidelines on the Smart-Plate Ruler.

(D) Sew 4-25/8" matching background triangles to the corners.

(A) Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of 2 matching 71/4" background squares. Layer one marked and one unmarked 71/4" square right sides together. Sew 1/4" from each side of the diagonal line. Cut on the diagonal line. Press toward the dark triangle. Repeat to make 4 matching half square triangle units.

(A) Arrangle 4 matching star points, 1 pinwheel center and 4 matching-61/2" background squares in 3 rows as shown; sew. Join the rows.

(B) Center the circle template on the block and cut along the edges or trace and cut the circle. Stay stitch the circle edges. Make 20 total.

(A) Arrange 2 matching pairs each of A and B as shown, creating a frame. Sew together and stay stitch the edges.

(B) Pin the star circle inside the frame, right sides together. Match seams, easing in fullness, and sew. Press toward the frame. Tip: Sew with the circle on top.
