The positive closure inlet valve is able to close totally. During unload, air enters the airend from the bypass valve. If there is a sudden loss of supply power or in the event of emergency stop, the inlet valve completely closes and prevents a fluid backflow. The inlet valve operates using pressure from the reservoir and makes operation stable and reliable.

The directional flow inlet housing chambers the air flow towards the rotor housing in an axial direction, reducing turbulence that would cause an increase in temperature of inlet air.Drawing air into a chamber ahead of the rotors allows the full length of the rotor to be used. The result is improved efficiency by 5% to 7% over traditional radial flow designs.
