APPENDIX

1. Obtaining a Concurrent License for erwin DM r8.2 or later A. Requirements Any PC capable of running erwin DM can be used to host a license server for erwin Data Modeler.

- The operating System must be Windows

- The machine must have a non-virtual MAC address

- The license server and all workstations that are to use erwin concurrent licenses must be actively connected to the same network

B. Requesting the license Requests for erwin concurrent licenses are handled in the same manner as requests for standard erwin r8 or later licenses.

- Obtain a non-virtual MAC address from the machine to host the license server

- Obtain the Full Machine Name from the host machine o In most cases only the basic machine name is used, but by requesting the full name we avoid

having to go back to the user if the full name is required. - Pass that information to erwin Licensing

o Through the license request form

o By calling Support

C. Notes - You will receive your concurrent license files through email in the same manner as the standard

erwin r8 and laterlicense files.

- The internal structure of concurrent license files is similar to the standard r8 license files; however, they must be installed through the license server.

- A concurrent license file that is simply copied to a workstation or license server will not be recognized.
