Radiographers produce X-ray images of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. They interact with patients byexplaining procedures and various positioning techniquesnecessary to produce quality images of the body. An extensiveknowledge of radiography equipment is essential.

With additional education, this program can be a stepping stonefor careers in the related allied health professions, includingradiation therapy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, education,management, special procedures, computed tomography,mammography and magnetic resonance imaging.

Admission to the Radiologic Technology program is competitiveand based on specific requirements that can be obtained fromattending a Health Information Program (HIP) Session.

Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the official registryexam given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee onEducation in Radiologic Technology.
