Musculoskeletal Imaging

SIMS has an up-to-date MRI scanner with the newest techniques

and software available for dedicated musculoskeletal imaging,

which will give exquisite detailed images of the joints, cartilage,

ligaments, capsules etc. MR Arthrogram is also offered for more

detailed imaging of joints and their linings. Our multislice CT

scanner provides detailed three dimensional reconstructions of

the studied bone or joint and may also serve as a pre-operative

planning guide. We perform minimally-invasive bone and soft

tissue biopsies under imaging guidance.

Pediatric Imaging

We tailor our examinations to optimize our techniques to answer specic clinical questions

while ensuring the child's comfort. For our CT examinations, we use low dose protocols so as to

get optimal image detail at the lowest possible radiation dose.

Women's Imaging

The areas of emphasis are breast, obstetrics and gynecology.

Specic modalities used for women's imaging includes

mammography, ultrasound and in a lot of instances MR

Interventional & Endovascular Therapies

concept behind interventional radiology is to

Overview

The department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at SIMS aims to provide patient-centric

imaging services, offering a complete spectrum of leading-edge technologies and specialized

clinical expertise. The department is staffed with a team of skilled and well experienced

radiologists working closely with the medical and surgical specialties to provide a complete

and integrated care.

Apart from catering to our hospital patients, the Department of Radiology also functions as a

stand-alone diagnostic imaging unit. Our facilities and services will be available round the

clock for everyone.

Neuro and Head & Neck Imaging

Reecting the ongoing evolution from purely anatomic

to physiological study of the brain, recent advances are

focusing on the development and application of

molecular and physiological imaging capabilities.

Keeping abreast with these developments, other than

routine neuroimaging, SIMS has the full complement

of current physiologic and other advanced imaging

techniques such as Functional MRI, MR Perfusion,

MR Spectroscopy, Diffusion Tensor Imaging, Arterial

Spin Labeling, Time Resolved MR Angiography and CT

Perfusion.

Cardiothoracic Imaging

Noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, such as Cardiac

Computed Tomography (CTA) and Cardiac Magnetic

Resonance Imaging (CMRI) utilizing the contemporary

technology at SIMS, offer reliable and pain free methods to

accurately screen and diagnose disease conditions without the

risks associated with more invasive procedures such as

catheter angiography, in addition to providing useful road

map for surgical planning.

Abdominal Imaging

SIMS has a sophisticated MRI machine with whole

body diffusion software which facilitates early

diagnosis of malignancy and its spread. Our multislice

CT scanner provides very high resolution, multiplanar

images helping us make accurate diagnoses. We also

perform image guided biopsies for histopathological

diagnosis, and in certain conditions, interventional

therapies done by our specialists might be the only line of management.

Vascular Imaging

SIMS offers complete array of noninvasive techniques required to evaluate the entire vascular

tree, such as Doppler ultrasound, CTA and MRA. As and when necessary, minimally invasive,

catheter angiograms and vascular interventions may also be performed.
