AGM Information

1 Only Transferable Golfing Members (Local or Foreign) and nominees of Corporate Members can attend the AGM. No Member whose membership is currently under suspension under Rules 23, 24, 32 or 35 of the Club’s Constitution, shall be allowed to attend the AGM.

2 Registration will commence at 6.30pm at the second storey landing (at the top of the staircase) leading to Shanshui Palace Restaurant. To register, members must produce either their membership card or identity card or passport for foreigners.

3 Registered members will be given a Voting Slip at the point of registration.

4 Voting procedures will be explained at the AGM. In accordance with Rule 30.4, election shall be by secret ballot.

5 Appointed time of the AGM is 7.30pm. Registration and admission of members will close immediately before voting on the first matter put to the vote.

6 The Agenda for the AGM is as stated in the Notice of AGM.

7 a The President shall chair the AGM as per Rule 30.11 of the Constitution.

b Subject to the provisions of the Club’s Constitution, all matters including election of office-bearers shall be decided by a majority of the votes of the Members present and voting and a decision by such majority shall be deemed to be the decision of the AGM.

c In the case of an equality of votes, the Chairman of the AGM shall have a second or casting vote.

8 Candidates standing for election, who are present and who wish to address the floor before voting takes place, will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to introduce themselves.

9 Any Member who wishes to place an item on the Agenda of the AGM may do so provided he gives notice to the General Committee at least seven (7) clear days before the meeting is due to be held. Any such notice received shall be placed on the Club’s Notice Board.

Please note that only principal members and nominees of corporate members are permitted to attend the meeting. The Notice of Meeting and the Annual Report for FY 2009/2010 will be sent to members in the 1st week of September 2010. Do look out for them in the post.
