Acolyte is one of the first five main classes in Ragnarok II: LOTS. Like many other MMORPG, Acolytes are experts in supporting and healing abilities which play a very important role in a party. Because of those abilities, they can grind just fine whether it is solo or party. There is no need for an Acolyte to buy any healing potions because they can spam heal. Their holy spells are not to be underestimated. They got great offensive spells, although arent as great as Magicians spells. But they are capable on boosting skills up to the fullest (Asperio).Although with those advantages, Acolytes are short on Health Points (HP) and lack of defense.II. Acolytes SkillsI have listed all Acolytes skills, its description, my commentary and personal ratings for each skill.Heal (Supportive Skill)Description: Recover ones HP equivalent to 30%/33%/36%/40%/43% of your magic power. Under the Asperio, the next three heals will become a critical hit.Casting Time: 1s.Cooldown: 0s.Rate: oooooCommentary: This deserves a 5/5 rating from me. Yes, this skill is very great because you can spam it all day long. As an Acolyte, youll use this instead of Potions to save your money. Max this skill ASAP.Holy Light (Offensive Skill)Description: Conjure a divine cross to deal 27%/30%/33%/36%/39% of your magical damage to a single enemy. Next 3 Holy Light will become a critical hit under the buff of Asperio.Casting Time: 1s.Cooldown: 0s.Rate: oooooCommentary: This is one great offensive spell you can have as an Acolyte because simply it has no cooldown with only 1s casting time and great damage. I suggest you to max this skill ASAP for the sole purpose of grinding.Blessing (Supportive Skill)Description: Cast a gospel upon you and your partymates to increase Max HP by 3%/6%/9%/12%/15% for a duration of 30 minutes.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 3s.Rate: oooooCommentary: A no-brainer skill to max. It adds 15% of your Max HP with 30 minutes duration, no reason to dump it.Tankers will thank you for this. A must max skill.Judex (Offensive Skill)Description: Summons the Thunder of Judgement to inflict magical damage equivalent to 14%/17%/19% of your magic power on the top of the enemies within the Area of Effect.Casting Time: Instant.Cooldown: 3s.Rate: oCommentary: This skill wouldve been more useful if it has at least 1s cooldown. The skills main purpose is just to stun your enemies. The damage and cast time are bad. You DO NOT want to use this skill at all. It is recommended for you not to learn this skill at all.Lex Divina (Offensive Skill)Description: Summons a holy hammer to be thrown to the enemy and deal 22% of your magic power at level 1 / 26% of your magic power and will crit if the targets HP is below 20% at level 2 / 30% of your magic power and will crit if the targets HP is below 20% and gain 3 Holy Water if your enemy dies from this skill at level 3.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 10sRate: ooooCommentary: There are a lot of arguments flying around inside this skill. Some say this skill has to be maxed for faster grinding but some agreed not to max this skill or even take it. But those argument is invalid as your skills will be resetted once you transcend intoMonk. You WILL need to learn this skill to grind faster. It maybe not recommended for fellow Priests, but not for us. You can either max this skill or leave it at level 2. Oh yeah, only use this skill when your targets HP is below 20%, otherwise you better off leave this skill entirely.Increase Agility (Supportive Skill)Description: Increase movement speed of you and your party members by 40% for 10s/11s/12s/13s/14s.Casting Time: Instant.Cooldown: 260s/240s/220s/220s/180s.Rate: ooCommentary: Similar to RO1s Increase Agility this skill increases your Movement Speed but the differences are theres no increase in Agility in the RO2s version and they add cooldown to it, the long one in RO2. The skill increases you and your party members movement speed by a nifty percentage of 40% but has a ridiculous cooldown. You either leave this skill or learn it but leave it at level 1. Do not attempt to max this skill at all.Highness Heal (Supportive Skill)Description: Recover your and surrounding 2 allies HP by 44%/49%/54%/59%/64% of your magic power. Under the Asperio spell, Highness Heals recovery amount increased by 50%Casting Time: Instant.Cooldown: 10sRate: oooCommentary: Only learn this if you do party leveling all the time. Otherwise, do not learn this skill at all if you plan to solo most of the time. Even you can choose to use Renovatio on each party members rather than using this skill if you prefer party leveling.Renovatio (Supportive Skill)Description: Recover targets HP by 16%/19%/22% of your magic power every 2 seconds for 12s duration.Casting Time: Instant.Cooldown: 0sRate: oooooCommentary: While Heal needs you to cast for 1s and is not effective in combat, this skill does the exact opposite. This skill has no casting time and no cooldown and is efffective while it is active. That means, you dont have to worry about your HP because itll replenish by itself while this skill is active.Meditatio (Passive Skill)Description: Increases effect of healing skills when applied as critical hit by 340%/380%/420%/460%/500% exceeding 95% Hit Rate.Rate: N/ACommentary: The description explains that Meditatio will increase the effect of healing skills but I am still in a hot water figuring this one out. So I cant comment about this really as I never really bothered to look into this skill.Aqua Benedicta (Supportive Skill)Description: Recover SP by 15% and creates 3 Holy Waters.Casting Time: Instant.Cooldown: 60sRate: oooCommentary: Youll be getting this skill whether you like it or not. It is a prerequisite for Asperio and it is great having 3 Holy Waters which is useful for Asperio.Ressurection (Supportive Skill)Description: Ressurects a dead player in your party. You can revive a fallen player to max HP and without cast time under Asperio buff.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 3000/2400/1800Rate: ooCommentary: Another skill that is full of debates. After the patch that increases this skills cooldown drastically, people chose to leave this skill at level 1, but some players chose to max this skill because of the drastic cooldown decrease per level. But you do not need this skill because youll transcend into Monk later on. Just put this at level 1 as the prerequisite for Aqua Benedicta.Asperio (Supportive Skill)Description: Requires 1 Holy Water. Improve Acolytes skill effects. The affected skills are: Holy Light, Heal, Ressurection, Judex, Highness Heal, Sanctuary (Priest), Magnus Exorcismus (Priest), and Ray of Genesis (Priest).Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 60s/40s/20sRate: ooooCommentary: Youll be needing this skill to increase the effects of your skills, especially Heal and Holy Light. You can choose to not learn this at all or max this if you have spare for faster killing with Holy Light and crit-heals with Heal for leveling.Oratio (Supportive Skill)Description: Chants a spell which recite the prayers of gods to inflich 8%/9%/10%/11%/12% of your magic power on every 2s for the duration of 20s.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 0sRate: oCommentary: Bad skill is bad, you better off spamming your Holy Light rather than using this skill. The damage is horrible even for a DoT. But Priests find this skill very useful because it can be stacked with other DoT skills.III. Skill Build(s) for AcolyteFirst of all, as you will transcend into Monk later, you do not have to worry about picking the correct skill or whatnot. Just pick and max any offensive skills that you have (except Oratio) to fasten your leveling process. Holy Light and Lex Divina are must max skills. Heal and Renovatio are also a must for healing purposes. Take Asperio if you want a slight faster killing using Holy Light (it crits under the Asperio buff). Thus I recommend you this build for leveling:- Level 5 Holy Light (Main offensive skill)- Level 5 Blessing (For more survivability)- Level 5 Heal (Main healing skill)- Level 1 Renovatio (No SP left, and level 1 Renovatio is still great! Secondary healing skill)- Level 3 Lex Divina (Finishing spell)- Level 1 Increase Agi (you really do not need this skill that much due to its horrible cooldown)- Level 1 Aqua Benedicta (Prerequisite to Asperio)- Level 3 Asperio (faster killing means faster leveling)Those are pretty much the core skills that you must have. You can add Highness Heal if you want to (Meditatio must be learned as prereq). You can choose to drop Blessing and max Renovatio. Its your call.IV. Acolytes Stats DistributionAs an Acolyte striving on becoming a Monk, just focus on INT, all the way until you reach 25. Do not bother with other stats.V. Introduction to The Monk

Upon reaching level 25, you can transcend to either a Priest or a Monk.Monks are close combatants who use fists to excel in battle. They also begin with a whole new set of skills, meaning, you will get a reset skill after transcending into a Monk but you cannot add any of the Acolytes skill. Monk relies on his lightning fast attacks to stack up spirit spheres for an even greater offensive attacks which require spirit spheres. They have a very strong physical body which means high defense and can serve as Secondary Tanker or even Main Tanker if geared and built properly.Yes, going for a Monk is a tough path to follow as youll giving up all of your Acolyte skills, imagine that friendly Heal skill taken away from you. But as you leveled up , youll feel the greatness of a Monk. I can guarantee you that.VI. Monks SkillsI have listed all of Monks skills, description, commentary and personal ratings on each skill below.Quadraple Palm (Offensive)Description: Struck a target with multiple punches. Inflict 17%/19%/21%/23%/25% of your attack power. Generates 1 Spirit Sphere.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 0sRate: oooooCommentary: Your main DPS skill. It has no cooldown and the animation is quite fast. I really recommend you to max this skill ASAP after transcending into a Monk.Iron Palm (Passive)Description: Passively increase your defense by 10%/20%/30%/40%/50%.Rate: oooooCommentary: 50% extra defense at level 5 and it is passive. MAX THIS BABY.Spiritual Cadence (Passive)Description: Gain 2 attack power for each Intelligence and allows you to generate Spirit Sphere while using offensive skills.Rate: oooooCommentary: This could be the best passive youll ever had alongside with Iron Palm because simply it is a passive skill! Now, you do not have to worry about investing Intelligence (INT), rather, it enhances your attack power up to the fullest. Because of this skill, an equalized amount of STR and INT is better than a pure STR/INT stats. For example: 30 STR and 30 INT is better than having 40 STR or 40 INT alone.Iron Mountain Attack (Offensive)Description: Gather your inner strength to crush 2 nearby enemies by 37%/39%/42%/44%/47% of your attack power. Requires 3 Spirit Spheres.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 0sRate: oooooCommentary: Your secondary DPS skill after Quadraple Palm. The skill got greater damage, twice the damage of Quadraple Palm and it hits 2 enemies. The only downside is that this skill requires 3 Spirit Spheres. You will need to build up your Spirit Spheres before using this skill.D. Grand Collapse (Offensive)Description: Strike an enemy with a series of tackles to inflict the damage of your 14%/16%/18%/29%/21% attack power. Generates 2 Spirit Sphere.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 6s.Rate: ooCommentary: This skill has horribly low damage and it has a pretty long cooldown. Leave this skill at level 1 because youre only using this skill to obtain two Spirit Spheres instantly.Intimidation (Debuff)Description: Taunt an enemy to make it attack you.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 20s/17s/14s/11s/8sRate: oooCommentary: Similar to Swordmans Provoke, you taunt an enemy to attack you instead to your party members. A great tanking tool indeed, also used to hold aggro.[size=3]Summon Spirit Sphere (Buff)Description: Instantly generates 3 Spirit Sphere and reset the cooldown of all your skills.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 240s/210s/180s/150s/120sRate: ooooCommentary: Personally, I love this buff. With this you can do two consecutive Guillotine Fists in a row, every two minutes. How awesome is that? This buffs really helps in PvP, also the most important key to guarantee your victory. But, if you dont PVP that much and do not plan to PVP in the future, you can leave this skill at 1. But really, youll regret not having this skill maxed.Lightning Crush (Offensive)Description: Creates a shockwave by pounding the ground to inflict 15%/17%/20% of your attack power to maximum 3 enemies and generates 50% threat.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 3sRate: oooCommentary: Your aggro keeping tool. Spam this every 3s while facing multiple mobs to ensure your partys safety. Use the combination of Intimidation Lightning Crush and Stone Skin permanently keep your aggro especially when tanking a boss.Flee (Buff)Description: Increases your dodge rate by 4%/8%/12%/16%/20% for 10 seconds.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 60sRate: ooCommentary: I think it would be a waste to invest any points in this skill at all because we are not Thieves. We dont have that much AGI in the first place. This wouldve been a great skill to have if it adds +20% to our original dodge rate raw.Lightning Walk (Offensive)Description: Instantly move in front the targeted enemy and strike it with 17%/19%/21%/23%/25% of your attack power. Generates 1 Spirit Sphere.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 60s/50s/40s/30s/20sRate: oooCommentary: Personally, this skill is great. I found love from this skill. While it is not that important in PVE, I gotta say this skill works wonder in PVP. Fact: There are a lot of runners in PVP and you should use this to chase your enemy. In PVE, this skill main usage is just to generate spirit sphere.Throw Spirit Sphere (Offensive, Debuff)Description: Fire a spirit bullet to your enemy from far away to inflict 17%/19%/21%/24%/26% of your attack power and increase 10% of damage inflicted by all of Monks offensive skill for 15s. Generates 1 spirit sphere.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 10sRate: oooooCommentary: Monks greatest debuffing skill. While the damage is not that great, the only and the sole reason of this skill is just to debuff your enemy so that you will deal more damage with other offensive skills for what, 15 seconds? That means you can perma-debuff your enemy! This skill also generates 1 spirit sphere. How great is that? Just leave this skill at level 1.Ki Explosion (Buff)Description: Increases your attack power by 6%/12%/18%/24%/30% for 30 seconds. Requires 3 Spirit Spheres.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 60sRate: oooooCommentary: This is also one of the greatest buff you can have as a Monk. It increases your attack power by 30% at level 5. It has 60s cooldown with 30s duration. If you want to get a slight increase on your DPS, you should max this skill, but its okay to just leave it at level 1 if youre a pure tanker. Youll need this buff in order to use Guillotine Fist.Guillotine Fist (Offensive)Description: Gather your mind, spirit and physical power to deal a tremendous strike. Inflict 82%/91%/101%/110%/120% of your attack power and stuns your enemy for 3 seconds. Only available in Ki Explosion state.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 60sRate: oooooCommentary: Your ultimate offensive skill. Although it has the highest damage modifier in RO2 when coupled by Ki Explosion, its cooldown is still quite long. Still, I recommend you to max this skill because the increase per level is high, not to mention this skill stuns your target for 3s which is great!Protection Ki (Buff)Description: Gather your spirit to emit a defensive aura that surrounds your body. Decreases any damage taken by 10%/20%/30%/40%/50% for 10 seconds.Casting Time: InstantCooldown: 120s.Rate: ooooCommentary: Everything is just great except the duration and cooldown part. It only buff you for 10 seconds with a 120s cooldown. But, every seconds count, especially in raids. Believe me, you will not regret maxing this skill, if and only if youre planning to be a tanker. Otherwise, you can choose to leave this at level 1 for Steel Body.Stone Skin (Toggle Buff)Description: Gather all of your spirit sphere to increase your HP by 7%/14%/21%/28%/35%, Defense by 40%/80%/120%/160%/200% and Threat Value by 60%/120%/180%/240%/300% but decreases attack power by 10% while this skill is active. Press this skill once again to deactivate the buff. Require all 5 spirit spheres. Does not require spirit sphere while Protection Ki is active.Casting Time: 4sCooldown: 3sRate: oooooCommentary: Monks ultimate defensive skill, which means this skill is the ultimate tanking tool of the Monks tree. This skill generates a tremendous amount of threat. Use this with Lightning Crush to always keep aggro. Your HP will be increased by 35% and defense by 200% at level 5. I really really recommend you to max this skill.VII. Skill Builds for MonkThe Monk has several skill builds, namely: Pure Tank build, DPS-Tank (Hybrid) build, and the pure DPS build. To be noted that you cannot add Acolyte skills anymore once you transcend into Monk. Disclaimer: The purpose of this section is to recommend you the builds that Ive created. You can choose to follow this build or customize it the way you like. If you want some suggestions you can post it in this thread.Pure Tank build(13 SP left)This build is very good in raid runs and youll almost welcomed in any raid party because you have all tanking tools like Intimidation and Flee. But this build has low DPS capability, and youre pretty much useful limited for tanking.Hybrid build, DPS-Tank(7 SP left)You will solo just fine with this build, it has all the offensive skills and defensive skills needed. You are also acceptable in raid parties as they also need your DPS. And you can PVP just fine with this build. Leftovers can be spent on either Lightning Walk (for PVP) or Intimidation.Pure DPS build(7 SP left)The only advantage you have when using this build is you will feel a drastic increase on your DPS. But this build is still not recommended, because the build does not have the versatility which is Monks main feature. You will have a hard time joining a party, youll lack of defensive skills which is needed in PVP which means you will die faster. My buildThe advanced version of hybrid build. You can solo/party leveling just fine with this build. You are also acceptable in raid runs and most importantly, you got all the advantages in PVP when using this build. Lightning Walk is maxed for mobility, Summon Spirit Sphere is also maxed to do the infamous 2 consecutive Guillotine Fists. Thats not all, you can also tank just fine with all maxed defensive skill. This build lacks Flee skill which in my opinion is useless.VIII. Monks Stats DistributionIve listed all types of the stat distribution for a Monk.DPS focus- STR: 40- INT: 40- Leftover to AGI/VITSemi DPS & Semi Tank- STR: 30- INT: 30- AGI: 25- VIT: 25-or-- STR: 35- INT: 35- Leftover to either VIT/AGI.Pure Tanking- INT: 30- AGI: 30- VIT: 30- Leftover to STR or increase AGI/VIT.

Ragnarok Online 2 LotS Monk Skill and Stat Build

If you see monk they either have very strong body and also very fast attack combo. If you want to be a monk you must ready to be either damage taker or damage dealer. Even monk use clothes as their armor, monk has very great defend skills. Monk usually role as tanker when MVP, Monk also could be super high damage dealer (in short time / every 60/120 second) with a skill combination. You will get skill reset when class change from acolyte to monk.

There are two type of monk Tanker and DamagerRagnarok Online 2 LotS Monk Tanker Skill and Stat Build1 VIT and 1 AGI

I seriously lol'd when I saw OP's builds. And also, if you guys don't play a monk, please don't try to teach others on how to build their characters up.

IMO, there's no such thing as DPS or TANK monk, since the class itself is both.

Here's the skill build that I'm using right now:

Resized to 78% (was 775 x 272) - Click image to enlarge

*2 leftover points, I dunno where to spend them

1/1 Spiritual Cadence- You got no choice. It's already set once you switch to monk.

5/5 Quadruple Palm (QP)- Your basic skill, maxed for optimal damage.

5/5 Iron Palm- Passive with 50% def boost. You definitely won't skip this.

5/5 Iron M. Attack (Heavy Tackle/HT)- You use this everytime you get 3SS (unless you're going to use Fury). Worth maxing because of the damage it gives.

5/5 Grand Collapse (GC)- Some people said that the damage progression is low so it's not worth maxing. But as a monk, you'll be using this skill ALMOST EVERY COOLDOWN. Why not max it if you're using it everytime? The damage is low compared to QP but the 2SS it gives lets you do Heavy Tackle almost everytime. I'd rather deal a 21% GC every 6-8 seconds than doing a measly 14% GC just because I held back some skill points.

1/5 Shout- No point in maxing a provoke skill. This is only used in certain situations, where you need to catch up on the threat on a certain mob. This skill gives you threat equal to the highest in your group. Meaning, you're not gonna spam this on a single mob. The 20s cooldown is more than enough to hold agro.

5/5 Summon Spirit Sphere (SSS)- This is a great skill to have. You can use this in an offensive and/or defensive way. Offensive is you use this skill to dish out 2 consecutive Asura Strikes (Fury > Asura > SSS > Asura). Defensive is you're gonna use it to reset Ki Protection.

1/3 Earth Shaker (Lightning Crush)- Just put a skill point here for getting Fury. Potions give more agro than this skill and potions cover every mob attacking your party. The damage it deals is also laughable and it only hits 3 mobs.

0/5 Flee- As others have said in this thread, 5 points to get 20% Flee is not worth the investment. Also, the 20% Flee is only active for 10s. Also, you must consider that Flee is heavily diminished when fighting bosses.

1/5 Lightning Walk (LW)- You don't need this in your rotation. Most of the time, I use this as an opener (TSS > LW > QP > HT) to easily build up agro. In PvP, if you want to kill someone, you just use this to easily catch up to them. Most fights won't last 20s, so even at level5, you can only use this once. So why bother maxing this?

5/5 Ki Explosion (Fury)- Damage +30% for 30s, 1 min. cooldown. Need I say more? Anyone who leaves this at level1 should go play Farmville. Combined with SSS, you can have a full minute of increased damage. A very useful skill.

5/5 Ki Protection- Your OH SH*T skill. Literally halves the damage you received. Even if you're going as DPS, this is a must-have. And when you use Steel Body, there's no SS cost for this skill.

1/5 Throw Spirit Sphere (TSS)- Your gateway to permanently adding 10% more damage to your monk. 10s cooldown, 15s buff effect. Not bad IMO. Just use this if you don't see a TSS debuff on a mob. Not worth maxing since it has a long cooldown, and the debuff effect doesn't increase per level.

5/5 Guillotine Fist (Asura Strike)- You became a monk to use this skill. Maxing this is a must. 120% Physical damage + 30% Damage buff from Fury + 10% debuff from TSS? If you don't max this skill, play Farmville.

5/5 Stone Skin- This is a must have. This skill is what makes us monks versatile. Turn this skill ON if you need to be a tank, turn it off if you're going full DPS. You can also leave this ON as DPS since it gives you better survivability, although you need to check the threat meter to make sure that your not getting the aggro from the tank.

2 LEFTOVER POINTS = still undecided. But IMO, put this in Lightning Walk since the other skills are useless.

STAT BUILD:

40 STR, 40 INT, 8 VIT- No AGI because if you check the monk's equipment, you only have STR/INT/WIS/VIT. Meaning, you will definitely have LOW AGI. No use investing AGI if you would only get very low crit/dodge values.- You definitely won't need WIS since your SP pool is enough.- VIT's effect is a waste of points since it only gives you 6HP per point of VIT. Just use Scratch Thief cards to get the VIT you need. The 8 points here is to make sure that no stat points will go to waste.- The great thing about being a monk is STR = Damage+Parry, and INT = Damage+Parry. Compared to the other tank classes, this gives us better mitigation IMO since you have more of the PARRY stat. Leaving this at 1 STR : 1 INT is a win-win. With this in mind, you can also go for a 41STR 41INT build but I suggest going to 40/40/8 instead to have a small buffer on HP.

This one here is a fail-safe build. You won't have a hard time getting a party since you can function as a DPS and/or TANK. You won't have problems holding aggro as a tank since you have high threat. You won't have problems as DPS since the necessary skills are maxed out. It's just a matter of flicking Steel Body to suit a role the party/raid needs. Also, don't be intimidated by the high damage dealt by other classes. We monks use quick, decent-damaged skills instead of having high damage skills with long animation/cast times.

BEST PARTIED WITH: Wiz(INT Buff), Warrior/Knight (STR Buff).

If we talk about Monks, we then expext a bald-headed guy who always meditates to achieve inner peace and has some skills on hand to hand combat or what they call as Kung Fu. Well, that's what I think of a Monk because of those darn good Kung Fu movies :D.

TheMonk of Ragnarok Online 2has the same characteristics as to what I have described. The only difference is, they are not bald! (well, if you don't choose to :D). They are melee class who loves hand to hand combat and does have strong physique. In fact, they can also be a tanker in the game and can deal good damage to enemies while doing that, making them a force to be reckon in Ragnarok Online 2.

However, before being that kind of force, you will need to know what are the best skills to include in your skill tree to become a monster Monk! To help you with that, I have decided to put up a guide which shares to you a detailed explanation on every monk skills and my opinion on what skill to get and what to exclude.

But before we go in with theMonk Skill Build, let us first discuss about Acolytes. As well all know, we need to be an Acolyte to either proceed to being a Monk or a Priest. Another thing why we need to discuss first about the Acolyte class is that when we transcend as a Monk, our skill will be reset! Meaning, all those skills that we have maxed on the Acolyte will be lost!

So, it's best that I won't invest any points on the Acolyte skill tree if I were to take the path of being a monk?LOL :D. Of course not! You need to have skills when you are still an Acolyte if you want to level up fast in the game. Take note that sometimes, it's hard to find a party in the game especially when your a newbie.

So now, let's discuss theAcolyte skills you need to level up fast in Ragnarok Online 2 and transcend into a Monk.

Acolyte Skill Build for Leveling

Important Note:This build is only applicable when you decided to become a Monk.

Holy Light- Your main killing skill as an Acolyte. It has no cool down and has a 1 second casting time which can be your everyday skill. Plus, the damage is pretty decent when max and, don't forget that when you have your Asperio buff on, the next 3 Holy Light will will be critical hits. I highly suggest that you max this skill.

Lex Devina- This is rather a complicated skill to have as an Acolyte. When this skill is leveled to 2, not only that you will increase the damage dealt by this skil but also, you will have the option to land a critical hit to the enemy if its max HP is 20% (this is where the complication begins). And when you decide to level it to 3, you will increase its damage, the critical option will also be there and now, you will gain 3 Holy Waters (which you need for your Asperio skill) when you kill the enemy instantly with this skill.

So, the question now is: Is this skill worth to max or not?Based on my experience and honest opinion, this skill can be beneficial to your especially at max level when it comes to leveling fast. This skill may serve as your finishing blow to the enemy but mostly, it's a big asset for you as it has the ability to acquire Holy Waters when you inflict a deathblow. Just make sure that your enemy's HP is at 20%.

But what about Aqua Benedicta? It can also let you acquire 3 Holy Waters with ease?Well, you're right. But the fact is, Aqua Benedicta has a relatively long cool down (60 seconds). Take note that Lex Devina has 10 seconds cool down only and if you do use it correctly, then it will serve you well in your leveling.

So what's the final verdict?Definitely max this skil for faster leveling purposes as an Acolyte.

Oratio- A damage over time skill. Even at max level, the damage inflicted by this skill every 2 seconds (for 20 seconds) is pretty weak. And, you are better off spamming your Holy Light than casting this spell and waiting for the enemy to die. I personally don't have this skill on my build when I am leveling my Acolyte.

Judex- This skill has the ability to stun enemies. However, the damage is pretty weak even at max level and personally, I don't have this in my build for leveling my Acolyte. I rather spend the points on somewhere else which can do more damage and killing the enemy fast than to stun them. Besides, you have your healing skill to let you survive any difficulties.

Blessing- Extra HP would be advisable when leveling. So, if you have extra points while an Acolyte, do spend it here on this skill for the additional 15% Max HP.

Increase AGI- It would be a good skill to max if the cool down would be lower than a hundred but, it's not! In my leveling journey, I stick with quests and sometimes, it's not that easy to travel especially when you haven't got the mount yet. That is why I use this skill SOMETIMES for mobility and besides, you need this skill to get the final skill on this tree to level up fast.

Ressurection- Some say that this skill must be max to lower its cool down time. However, when you transcend as a Monk, this skill becomes useless. Monk's are more of a tanker type which can dish out decent damage and not a healer/reviver. You can leave the healing part to the priest and besides, when your leveling as an Acolyte you won't often need this skill as the heal is enough for survivability. Better to level this skill to 1 for prerequisite.

Aqua Benedicta- You must get this skill of course to allocate points on your Asperio. Besides, it's a decent skill which replenishes your SP by 15% but the most significant feature of this skill is its ability to give you 3 Holy Waters which you can use for Asperio to work. The only downsie of this skill is it has long cool down and that is why I have suggested to max Lex Devina so you would have another option on gaining Holy Water when this skill is not available yet.

Asperio- Basically, this skill enhances some of your Acolyte skills. For 1 Holy Water, it will improve:Holy Light: The next three attacks will be critical hits.Judex:Stuns all the target hit by this skill for 3 seconds.Resurrection: Instantly revive a target with Full HPHeal: The next three hits of heal will be critical hitsHighness Heal: Increases its heal by 50% and the target recovers over 10 seconds the same amount of HP.

Important Note: This skill consumes one Holy Water which then improves one skill. That is why it is recommended to level this skill high (if you have spare points left as an Acolyte) as this will help you kill monsters fast, especially those high level ones.

Heal-Your primary healing skill of course and the one that mad Acolyte famous in Ragnarok. With this skill, you will definitely sabe a lot of money from buying HP pots. I highly recommend to max this skill for higher healing. And the good new is, it has no cool down which means you can spam it every time. Talk about a perfect skill for leveling and saving up money!

Renovatio- This will be your secondary healing skill. It's a skil which has no casting time, no cool down and it's very useful while active as your HP will be replenish over time for 12 seconds. However, I won't suggest to level this skill high. Just put 1 point on this as the percentage heal is enough for us to survive.

Meditatio- In a nutshell, this skill will increase your critical damage for the cost of your extra accuracy. I still need further testing on this skill as it's more complicated than it seems. Anyway, I don't really need this skill for leveling my Acolyte to 25 and besides, I will be short of points if I decided to get and max this skill.

But for those who want to know more about this skill however, I suggest that you go on to thisMeditatio Skill Explanation post. I have seen this from one of the RO2 forum which was originally posted by a member of the forum and, I have decided to share it on this blog so that my readers can easily access this information.

Highness Heal- Also, I don't have this skill in my build for leveling. Personally, the reason why I did not include this in my build is because I go solo in leveling most of the time. This skill can be great in group plays (and perfect for priest) as the heal percentage is pretty huge especially, when it is paired with Asperio. But do take note that our goal here is to reach level 25 fast and not to be a support of any team. And I think, I have covered enough skills for survivability and killing in my skill build, leaving this skill undesirable. Besides, you will be short of points and most of all, you won't need this skill when you transcend as a Monk.

So basically, my skill build for leveling my Acolyte to 25 is:Holy Light- Level 5Lex Devina- Level 3Blessing- Level 5 (if you have spare points on this)Increase AGI- Level 1Resurrection- Level 1Aqua Benedicta- Level 1Asperio- Level 3Heal- Level 5Renovatio- Level 1 (if you have spare points for this)

With this skill build, I'm pretty sure that you will reach level 25 in no time.

After reaching level 25, you can now become a Monk and all your skill will be reset. Now, here is my best skill build for a Monk in Ragnarok Online 2:

Monk Skill Build Explanation

Iron Palm- Do I need to discuss why this skill must be max? :). Well, you must not let the 50% additional defense pass by! Remember that you havechosena melee class which only means you need to have as much toughness as possible to endure any attacks from both range and melee type opponents. So, you better max this skill.

Iron Mountain Attack- One of your everyday skill as a Monk that can deal decent damage to the enemy. It can hit 2 enemies in one single blow but here is the catch: This skill requires 3 Spirit Spheres to activate. So basically, you must ensure always that you have 3 Spheres at hand to make this skill work. Despite this what I call as hindrance to the skill :), I suggest that you max this. Don't worry about the acquisition of spheres as my build will ensurethatyou have enough spirit spheres every time you want to cast this skill.

Summon Spirit Sphere- This skill will let you generate 3 Spirit Spheres in an instant which is valuable for a Monk (just look back at the previous skill to see how important Spirit Sphere is). If it wasn't for the relatively long cool down, I would have max this skill. I suggest that you just leave this skill to 1.

Lightning Walk-A wonderful skill to have in PVP. We all know that all melee class have difficulties sometimes dealing with range class because of the distance. Well, this skill will solve that problem as this will let you jump in front of the enemy instantly and deal damage. However, I suggest that you just leave it to 1 as the damage increment is not that significant but, if you do have extra SP and you are a serious PVP player, then go leveling this skill further to lower its cool down.

Throw Spirit Sphere-One level is enough for this skill IMO. You won't use this skill for the damage but for the debuff. Take note that if you decide to level this skill further, only the damage will increase and the 10% additional additional damage inflicted to the enemy remains the same. That is why I suggest to level this skill to 1 only.

Spiritual Cadence-This skill lets you achieve the highest damage output a monk can gain even if you're investing half of your points to INTELLIGENCE. Remember that this skill has the ability to increase your attack power by two while you are investing on INT stat. So obviously, it's better for a Monk to have a balance STR and INT than to go Pure INT or STR. Let's say, it's good to invest 30 STR 30 INT and the rest to VIT as a Monk.

Shout-This skill is similar to Knight's provoke which will taunt an enemy to attack your character. Some say that this skill must be max but for me, I prefer leaving it to 1. Here is the thing: If you are needed to be a tank, there are skills for a Monk which draws a lot of Aggro and some can lure enemies towards you. Take note that the Stone skin can draw huge aggro while Earth Shaker and as well as Throw Spirit Sphere can be the solution for your luring problems. And based on experience, 20 seconds is enough to provoke and make a boss attack you until the very end.

Flee-I think this skill is lost :D. If you notice the skill tree of a Monk, most of it are defensive skill and not evasive. Considering that you have lots of defensive skill and you focus more on STR and VIT stat, do you still want to invest or max this skill for the 20% evasion? I think not! Better not get this skill as a Monk.

Protection Ki- This skill is superb in terms of tanking. This is one of the skill why Monk's can be considered as a Tanker type in Ragnarok Online 2. Just imagine what the 50% damage reduction can do to the damage of the enemy. Not to mention that you have other defensive skill! What do you think will happen to the damage of the enemy when you cast this all? :). Max this skill no matter what.

Important Note:You must have 1 Spiritual Sphhere for you to activate this skill.

Stone Skin-Increase in Max HP, Defense and Aggro? What more can you ask for a Tanking skill? Definitely max this skill. No doubt about it!

Quadruple Palm-Max this skill. This is one of your offensive skill that you can use most of the time. The damage is decent and also, it can generate 1 Spiritual sphere when use. Best to max this skill.

Drop of Grand Collapse-Compared to other offensive skills of a Monk, this skill has the second lowest damage. I suggest not to max this skill. Just leave it to 1 as you only need this as a filler skill and for the two spirit sphere acquisition.

Earth Shaker- This skill will let you send a shock wave into the ground which can hit 3 enemies. As I have said before this skill can be use for luring enemies towards you and as a matter of fact, it is one of the skill that I often spam to draw aggro. However, I don't recommend to max this skill as this is the number one skill in the Monk skill tree that has the lowest damage. Better leave it to 1 as an aggro generating and filler skill.

Ki Explosion- A must have skill and a must max skill as a Monk. This will let you gain a 30% bonus damage at max level which is pretty awesome. In addition to this, Ki Explosion is needed to cast your most IMBA offensive skill, theGuillotine Fist.

Important Note:Remember that this skill needs 3 Spirit Sphere to cast.

Guillotine Fist- Max this skill no matter what. This is your offensive skill which has the highest damage output to enemy. And not only that, an enemy hit by this skill will be stun for 3 seconds.
