The Rainbow CEP4 Advantage

• Lowest CEP noise• Self-referenced feed-forward• Extremely broad spectrum• fCEO=0• Chosen phase slip• Ultrashort pulses• Compact footprint• Long-term stability

CEP4 is Spectra-Physics’ latest generation of Carrier Envelope Phase (CEP) stabilization techniques, continuing the Femtolasers tradition of CEP innovation and success established over the past decade by CEP1 - CEP3. CEP4’s outstanding quality opens new realms of CEP stabilization:

• Via a direct feed-forward approach, the CEP drift is corrected on-the-fly after the free-running, passively stable Rainbow ultrafast oscillator.

• Zero phase slip, i.e., a train of pulses with identical waveform, is now as easy to obtain as any other slip rate.

• Unprecedented performance and reliability, both short- and long-term, are ensured by the CEP4 stabilization operation (Lücking et al., Optics Letters, Vol. 37, p. 2076, (2012)).

The CEP4 approach is packaged in a compact and robust module available together with the Rainbow oscillator. The latter generates the shortest optical pulses commercially available with highest quality, stability, and reproducibility.

Performance

Significantly reduced CEP noise is achieved by CEP4 via a drastically increased correction loop bandwidth. CEP4 allows for an oscillator pulse train with zero offset frequency, unlike any feed-back technique. With zero CEP slip from one pulse to the next, all pulses can now have identical waveforms. For the first time CEP sensitive experiments can be performed directly with few-cycle ultrafast oscillators.

The substantial increase in CEP stability is based on a simplified and elegant solution rather than an increase in complexity. CEP stabilization is decoupled from the laser performance and is guaranteed without rigorous requirements towards laboratory environmental conditions.

1. Due to our continuous improvement program, specifications are subject to change without notice.2. Other repetition rates available upon request.3. The Rainbow CEP4 is a Class IV – High Power Laser, whose beam is, by definition, a safety and fire hazard. Take precautions to prevent exposure to direct and reflected beams. Diffuse as well as specular reflections can cause severe skin damage.
