Capacity expansion of ports

Will the Minister of SHIPPING bepleased to state:

(a) whether Government proposes toaward port expansion and capacity creationprojects including the existing ports inAndhra Pradesh during the currentfinancial year;


(c) the existing capacity of each portlikely to be expanded; and

(d) the time by when these ports arelikely to be fully developed and theircapacity to be expanded?

Captive Port Policy

1085. SHRI S. THANGAVELU: Will theMinister of SHIPPING be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Ministry has unveiledits Captive Port Policy which allows port-based industries to set up cargo loadingfacilities for their own captive use at majorports without recourse to the auction route;

(b) if so, the details thereof;(c) whether the proposed port-based

industries will have to invest funds toconstruct, maintain, manage and repairsuch facilities for a maximum period of 30years and handle minimum guaranteedcargo of 70 per cent of the optimumcapacity of the project per year; and
