In most areas of the country, state or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the urn in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements. Other selections may be available by special order. Certain outer burial containers listed are available in extra width and length size upon special order at an additional cost. Our charge includes, but is not limited to, arrangement conference with family and responsible parties; arrangement of funeral, visitation, cremation, burial or anatomical donation details; preparation, filing and securing of the death certificate and other necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary, funeral and news notices; filing and obtaining death certificates and other forms and claims; coordination of service plans with parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased (cemetery, crematory, vault companies, florists, clergy, musicians, livery, etc.).

Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facilities such as sheltering of remains, professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds, maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, recordkeeping and secretarial and administrative expenses.

This fee for our basic service and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.(This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, anatomical donation and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming maybe necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a fiberboard container with a pillow and partial crepe interior.
