Ranges and Canal 2.4 Miles Go south up Main Street and cross the road at The Dog Inn onto Common Lane. Go past the school on your left and at the next house turn left onto the bridleway. The right of way crosses diagonally, but due to crops usually follows the edge of the field and then runs alongside and past the firing ranges with views across to the right of Hopwas Woods. After passing through a few gates the path turns left, leave the bridleway (which continues past the gas distribution station) and head down the track which is a public right of way, eventually coming out at the end of Vicarage Lane. Almost straight ahead the pathway becomes sandy as you walk down and meet the Fisherwick Road. Turn right and over the canal bridge taking care of traffic (it’s not easy to see over the bridge). Cross the road and join the canal heading north along the towpath with the houses on your left hand side. There is usually plenty of activity along this stretch of the canal with boats and ducks to see. After going beneath two bridges, at the third, go up the steps and turn left towards the village. The Burton Road leads back onto Main Street and up to the starting point.
