9th International Packaging Trade Fair Packaging Innovations

4-5 April 2017, Warsaw

Over 200 Exhibitors from all over the world, 5200 Visitors from Poland and foreign countries, inter-national business relations, proper dose of professional knowledge handed over during 3 industry conferences and workShops seminars. On 4th-5th of April took place the 9th edition of the biggest pac-kaging trade fair in Central-Eastern Europe – Packaging Innovations.

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME

WorkShops Zones, two selected areas at the trade fair halls dedicated for seminars and presenta-tions leaded by industry experts. In this year’s programme you could have found lecturers such as: Barbara Golimowska (Krystyna Janda Sp. z o.o.) or Dominika Sikora (Czteryczwarte Brand Design). The audience got to know among other topics: what is the art of foil refi nement, how brands builds the Millennials engagement by using packaging or how to use the neuromarketing during the pac-kaging study.

“How to pack brands?” seminars is the annual event coorganized with the publisher of “The World of Printing” magazine. The Participants could get to know what is the aware design or how to cre-ate the image of self brands. Experts counseled what printing grounds are the best to create each package design and how they will interact with refi nements.

THE STUDENT ZONE

The 6th Student Zone Contest is the permanent and very important part of The Packaging Innova-tions Trade Fair. To this year’s edition 23 projects were applied. In the second part of the Contest the jury evaluated 9 projects. The fi rst award went to Agnieszka Pluszczewicz for the unusual pac-kaging for the delicacies. Jury awarded the artfulness and the functionality of the design.

2nd place „ANIMUSIE” – Aleksandra Marczyk, Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź

3rd place „Opakowanie na jajka z modyfi kowaną wielkością wytłoczek na jajka duże i małe” – Eliza Sikorra, UTP University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz

The Digital Printing Forum, coorganized with the Anifl ex Group, is the annual event which aim is to present the possibilities of the digital printing of labels and packaging. This year’s edition was organized under the headword of a broadly understood personalization. The special guest of the meeting was PhD Marek Borowiński – the Visual and Neuro Merchandising specialist, the creator of a show about shops and sales increasement.

The Label Innovations Conference was the fi rst edition of the event initiated by Etykiety.pl Etigraf. The organizer focused on the most diffi cult aspects that challanges a lot of brand owners: starting with the brand and packaging image, fi nishing with the ways of engageing consumers.

Agnieszka Pluszczewicz, 1st place in The 6th Student Zone CompetitionI am really shocked and happy. All the more so because I’m only starting in the packaging industry. I have previously worked as an interior designer, and these are my fi rst steps in the packaging design industry. I think that the fi rst prize in this competition is a great opportunity for me. Not only for me – but for all other participants. Many companies are looking for interesting, original solutions, and this is our chance to be noticed and appreciated. I just wanted to see how far I can get, but this has been a great success! Who knows, maybe this is the direction I should take career-wise.

Aleksandra Marczyk, 2nd place in The 6th Student Zone CompetitionWell, I didn’t win but I am really happy I took part in the competition. This is a great starting point for a career in the packaging industry. This year I have won my categories in the Art of Packaging contest and second place here is a big deal for me, too. We’ve exchanged business cards with exhibitors in the Student Zone. participation has been a great chance for me to be recognized; there has been great interest in the Zone. As students, we subscribe to design thinking and an innovative approach that people here have really appre-ciated. I have had a number of interesting conversations and there is a chance that the designs presented here will turn into actual products. I study Industrial Design at the Academy of Art in Łódź.

Eliza Sikorra, 3rd place in The 6th Student Zone CompetitionI study Industrial Design at the University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz. I came here to exhibit my work. I wanted to see if there would be any interest in my ideas and projects. Taking part in the best packaging competition wasn’t that important to me. There’s been great interest in my projects, not only in what I’m showing here but in the rest of my portfolio, too – which is a pleasant surprise. Participation in the Student Zone is an opportunity to show off one’s work and get noticed for new, fresh ideas. And for the companies interested in innovative projects, it’s a chance to meet the designer and to interact with him or her directly. I’ve had some discussions about the possibility of getting my ideas into production.

EXHIBITOR’S TESTIMONIALS:Marcin Weksler – EyeC This is now our third time at this show. This year we have a new stand and we are exhibiting at a different location. We are really impressed; this year’s event is even better than the last one. We are suppliers of very specialist, niche equipment. Our direct competitors are a no-show this year, so we’ve enjoyed visitors’ full attention and continue to build our competitive advantage. We produce advanced vision control systems and have two groups of clients: end users and packaging manufacturers. Both groups that take advantage of our solutions are present here. […] We have generated highly qualifi ed leads, which means that these encounters may result in something real and specifi c; and negotiations started here will materialise into business projects. Indeed, a signifi cant percentage of last year’s leads turned into specifi c projects. I am sure that EyeC will be present at the Pac-kaging Innovations next year. I think that currently this is the best trade show in the packaging industry

Joanna Stanowicka-Ozga – Takt Sp. z o.o. We are very happy to be participating in the Packaging Innovations Show […] The event is very conveniently situated, as it takes place in the city centre. This year’s show is special to us because we are presenting premium and profes-sional packaging – the Wajda set – that won fi rst prize in the Art of Packaging contest. We have exhibited here before but this is the best edition yet. We have had more quality clients and more meetings and I can already say they

will be very effective marketing-wise. Are we going to attend next year’s event? That’s a rhetorical question – we wouldn’t miss it.

Piotr Różycki – CHEP POLSKAThe Packaging Innovations Show is a very well planned and well organized event. We’ve had a lot of visitors this year. I think every packaging sector com-pany that wants to be reckoned with should show up here and exhibit their products. The majority of our visitors have been from Poland, but we have also had interest from the Czech Republic, Scandinavia and Western Europe. Some of them were interested in specifi c products, others focused on novel-ties. I am sure that the new networking opportunities will result in new contracts.

Dawid Kwiecień – DS. SmithWe are very pleased with the way the show was organized. The organizers were very helpful, catered to our needs and offered advice and assistance. I think it’s still too early to assess whether we have been able to meet our business goals. We have liaised with many potential business partners and we hope that the new relations will result in joint projects. The fi rst day in particular was very good for us – we had a lot of work at the stand.

Andrzej Rusek – Maga-Gliwice, We are very satisfi ed with our stand and its location. We can’t complain about the organization of the event either. We have had visitors from central Poland to whom we sent invitations, but we’ve also seen interest from abroad. There have been many customers representing Eastern European companies, for example, from Lithuania. I think it will be great to be able to exhibit here next year. The packaging industry has been on the rise for some time now and if nothing bad happens, we will be more than happy to participate in next year’s Packaging Innovations Show.
