HAIC Participates in Career Fair
The Greater Hartford Re-Entry Council (GHREC), in partnership with CPA and other local agencies, put on this tremendous event, targeted specifically for job seekers involved in the court system. In attendance were 31 employers, 34 community resources and over 100 participants (job-seekers). The overall response was great, from all parties in-volved. HAIC had several clients find employment. GRACE Program
The following is an excerpt from a letter written by a DCF sub-contractor who recently worked with a client from our GRACE program.
I am writing today to tell you how highly impressed I have been by your program. I have worked in residential programs and with residential programs for almost 30 years. I have NEVER seen a better program! Your facility is so welcoming the minute you walk in. The walls are covered in uplifting and positive messages. It is spotlessly clean and so well organized. It is light and airy and homey. I have visited on every shift including the weekends. What is most striking is the warm welcome you feel from your staff and the absolute confidence that you feel that they know exactly what they are doing. Their car-ing relationship for the clients is obvious. I have met Freddy, Diane, Lauren and another woman whose name I did not get. I have also met at least one nurse and a woman who I met on the elevator who I think is a tutor. Each one of them as kind and capable as the next. Their energy and passion for their job is inspiring. So happy to have been introduced to your program and know that there is such a won-derful place for young woman to have a second chance and try again.
