1. Introduction

This is a simple training manual for the Raptors MOU Workspace in Drupal 7. This manual will give

short descriptions on how to communicate, swap ideas and discuss topics within the Raptors MOU

Workspace. This workspace is best accessed by using either Firefox or Google Chrome web

browsers. Some features may not work well with Internet Explorer due to security

vulnerabilities.

The Raptors MOU Workspace is primarily designed to facilitate the work of three WorkStreams:

Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Saker Falcon Task Force (STF) and Sooty Falcon International

Single Species Action Plan (SFISSAP). Each WorkStream contains different Working Groups.

Members of each WorkStream will be invited to join the Workspace by the Coordinating Unit of the

Raptors MOU or WorkStream Leads.

2. General Layout

This part shortly explains the overall organisation of the Raptors MOU Workspace.

Horizontal Tabs

Home: This page provides general information on the Workspace

WorkStreams: The three WorkStreams are: Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Saker Falcon

Task Force (STF) and Sooty Falcon International Single Species Action Plan (SFISSAP).

Working groups: Each WorkStream contains different Working Group (e.g. Saker Falcon

Work Stream contains four Working Groups: Objective 4 Working Group - International

policies & legislation; Objective 6 Working Group - Knowledge Gap Analysis; Objective 7

Working Group - Sustainable Use and Objective 8 Working Group – Fieldwork).

Discussion: On this page you can comment on or add new Forum topics to discuss all

general matters which are not covered by the existing WorkStreams

Members: A full list of Raptors MOU Workspace Members can be accessed here

Resources: This page contains documents, which members may need to refer to, such as the

MOU text, relevant MOS decisions and outcome

Wiki: This area provides a list of general wikis (websites that allow users to add, modify

and delete content) that are not part of WorkStreams. Wikis related to the specific

WorkStreams, or Workgroup will be found on the relevant Workstrem Page.

Left Sidebar

Public Area: Links to more information on the Workspace, Secretariat and Resources

New comments: Shows the comments recently added

Who is online: Shows who is currently accessing the Workspace

Surveys: Shows the links to the surveys in the Workspace. Only Admin can create surveys.

Right Sidebar

Search: Search function and advanced search through the system

New forum topics: Most recent forum topics that have been established in the workspace

New content: Content which has been added most recently

Interesting links: Webpages that could be of importance to members

3. My Account You can find the link to My Account on the right side of the header.

3.1 Edit Account In order to introduce yourself to other Workspace member, please complete all relevant

information:

Click ‘Edit’ ‘Account’ to change your password, upload picture, and set preferred time

zone.

Click ‘Edit’ ‘Official contact information’ to add your contact details

Click ‘Edit’ ‘Official personal information’ to add your biography

Click ‘Edit’ ‘Expertise’

Press Save on every page after editing

3.2 Manage your content

You will find your published content under ‘My Content’. Also you will be able to see and edit the

draft content and comments.

Click on Publish once you are ready

4. How to? This part will explain in simple steps how to add new content (Discussion Wiki), add comment or

submit revision to the content.

4.1 Add new Discussion Wiki

Click on the following link: http://workspace.cms.int/raptors/node/add and click on

‘Discussion Wiki’ or go to ‘Wiki’ page and click as indicated in the printscreen:

Add title, body message and attachments (optional)

Select the Group audience (eg. if you are a member of the STF WorkStream and want to add the

Wiki to this Group, select “STF). Please note that you’ll only be able to the groups you are

member of.

Tick the box ‘Provide a menu link’ and select the ‘Parent Item’ from the drop menu (e.g.

member of the Saker Falcon Task Force Objective 4 Working Group will select ‘Objective 4

Working Group’ from the drop menu).

If this is the final version of the content hit Publish; if it is a draft click on Save as draft; if you

first want to check how it would appear on the webpage hit Preview. All content can be saved

as drafts and edited later on. The drafts can be found under My Account.

5. Other useful information In addition, the Workspace members can add discussions in the Forum or add useful links.

5.1 Add Forum Topic

Click on Discussion in the horizontal tabs to get to the Forums

You can either comment on already existing topics or you can create a new Forum topic

Click on + Add new Forum topic in order to create a new conversation topic

Add the Subject which will be the title of new forum

Select the type of Forum that you want to create

You can add a description of the new topic in the Body to specify the matter of the discussion

Upload files if there are any. You can upload as many attachments as you like

If this is the final version of the content hit Publish; if it is a draft click on Save as draft; if you

first want to check how it would appear on the webpage hit Preview

All content can be saved as drafts and edited later on. The drafts can be found under My

Account

The content will appear on the Discussion page

5.2 Add Links

Click on the following link: http://workspace.cms.int/raptors/node/add and click on Link or

Resource.

Add a Title for your link

Insert the URL starting with either “http://” or “www”

If this is the final version of the content hit Publish; if it is a draft click on Save as draft; if you

first want to check how it would appear on the webpage hit Preview

All content can be saved as drafts and edited later on. The drafts can be found under My

Account

The content will appear under the Links Area
