Grand Parents Day

The Valentines Day was celebrated as the Grand Parents Day at Brighton. A small presentation was made by the students, where they paid their homage to the elderly. The parents not only enjoyed the performance but also participated in many gamesalong with their grand sons and daughters.

The program was aptly named ‘Blessings’, where the elderly blessed the teachers and the staff for this noble effort.

Biscuit Factory Visit

The youngest of the Brighton family can share their feelings with Charlie as they now know howhe must have felt after visiting the Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. the entire junior wing paid avisit to the nearby Parle-G biscuit factory to learn the process of biscuit manufacturing. Not onlythe kids learnt but also left the factory with their hands full of biscuits.

Fun just quadruples if the learning happensat the place which you love the most. A visitto the local mall just helped kids learn about various things which are available in the market. They also had a gala time enjoying various games available at the mall and also while checking out the toys section. In allthis trip clocked maximum smiles.

Kids told teachers enough of learning L for Lion from the book, its high timeteachers showed them one. Junior se-ction paid a visit to the local zoo wherekids saw all the animals in actions. The fun doubled when they were offered their favourite drink and snacksat the venue. According to kids, this is one of the most exciting trip for them, where they learnt the most.

Let’s Go Green.By Pallavi Singh (Class VI)

- Collect garbage at home responsibly; separate the biodegradable, plastics, metals and glass.- Municipal and Panchayat authorities should introduce wide-spread garbage collection networks. Invest in recycling and introduce appropriate disposal system for hazardous household waste such as batteries and e-waste.- Provide many more bins in public spaces which should be emptied and maintained everyday. - Continue with the public education series of advertisements on hygiene and health. - Launch initiatives to clean our roads, parks, drains, rivers and other public spaces.

How to keep our country green and clean why can't we make more efforts to dispose our garbage in a proper manner ? To achieve that we will definitely need a much better waste collection and disposal system along with small but sustained efforts from each citizen to keep the public spaces clean. The minimum we need to do is.........

The only answer is recycle------conserve-----and---n-e-v-e-r p-o-l-l-u-t-e. Today we have "green nanotechnology" to deal with all our environmental problem. Greentechnology is only the solution that does not damage or deplete the Earth's naturalresources and demonstrates less damage to humans, animals and plant heath, aswell as to the world by using and recycling and reducing the amount of waste and pollution that is created during production and consumption. Some other environ-mental technologies that retain sustainable development are water purification, sewage treatment, solid waste management, renewable energy and others. Weare responsible to keep it clean and green because, "Don't ask what your countrycan do for you. Ask what you can do for your country”.

India is slowly moving ahead in terms of GDP, development and economic power. The rapidly growing environment and population problems in India are putting a strain on the environment, infrastructure, and the country's natural resources.Industrial pollution, soil erosion, deforestation, rapid industrialization, urbanization, land degradation are over exploiting the country’s resources be it land or water, they are all worsening problems.

- The Eiffel Tower in Paris weights over 1000 elephants.- Morrocco city sinks about 10 inches a year.- Fish, that lives more than 800 m below the ocean surface don't have eyes. - In the great fire of London in 1666 half of London was burnt down with only 6 people injured.- There are only three animals with blue tongues - The Black bear, The chow-chow dog and the blue tongued lizard.

The Black HoleBy Honey Agrawal (Class VI)

Hamid AnsariVice President2007 - Present

Mohammad Hamid Ansari (born 1 April 1937) is the current Vice President of India. He was born in Kolkataand studied at St. Xaviers Kolkata and Aligarh Muslim University. He was selected for civil services in 1961 in the India Foreign Services. Through out his career he has served at various prestigious positions like permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador to UAE, Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia. He also served as the Vice-Chancellor of his alma-mater Aligarh Muslim University. Ansari is a renowned West Asia scholar and has written extensively on many key issues. He is the author of the book ‘Travelling through conflict’.He was awarded the Padma Shri in the year 1984. He also served as the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities where he played a key role in serving the interest of minorities of India.

When the star is ten times more massive than our own sun, it explodes and leaves behind the strangest phenomenon in the universe, "The Black hole". After explosion what is left behind is heavy core of subatomic particles, a Neutron star. It can be very small, but with enormous density Scientists calculated that approximately one teaspoon of Neutron star would weight around billions of tons. The gravitational pressure of this highly dense object is so large that it can bend fabric of time and space. This theory is based on Einstein's preposition, that space and time are woven together in a flexible fabric. Massive objects like sun warp the fabric of space and time and pull smaller objects like earth.

The Polar bear never makes his bed.He sleeps on a cake of ice instead. He has no blanket, he quilt, no sheetExcept the rain and snow and sleet. He drifts about on a white ice floor. While cold wings howl and blizzard blowAnd the temperature drops to (-)forty and belowThe polar bear never makes his bed.The Blanket he pulls up over his head.Is lined with soft and featherly snow.If ever he rose and turned on the light. He would find a world and bathtub white,And icebergs floating through the night.

Funny QuestionsJuli Pal (Class VII)

Very large neutron star can warp time and space fabric so much that it could create a hole where gravity is so strong that not even light could escape. Black holes are pulling everything around them closer to the centre of the hole. In some sense, black holes are creatures of the galaxies since they are pulling planets and stars towards the spiral centre. Each galaxy has a black hole and occasionally galaxies collide together because of the gravitational pull from the larger black holes. It is expected that in 5 Billion years andromeda galaxy will collide with our milky way galaxy.

The Sahara DesertBy Ishaan Kansal (Class V)

It is believed that the Sahara Desert has been formed due to the breaking of food chain. It was earlier a grassland in olden times, the Romans capitulations, which resulted in the reduction in the lion populations. This in turn resulted in the increase in herbivore population which lead to overgrazing. The overgrazing removed all vegetation. In this way, the 'Sahara Desert' was formed.
