RBS 2409 Configuration

1. HW overview

The RBS 2409, a member of the RBS 2000 family, is an indoor pico base station intended for IP transmission. The RBS 2409 only supports GSM 1800 or GSM 1900. RBS 2409 contains two BSS nodes: STN and BTS.

RBS 2409 Overview 2. Interface

Inter ANT DC power OMT and IP Interface

transmission Interface

3. HW site configuration The site configuration steps consists of two parts : STN configuration and BTS configuration. a. BTS configuration

BTS Software: BTS 07B OMT version: R33 and later OMT New cable: RPM 119 0554/05000 Setting IDB parameters In create IDB setup option, we must only select two cabinets, otherwise the OK button in window is not allowed to click.

Another RBS cabinet must be added to the configuration. In fact, No.1 is no useful

When adding HW in cabinet, only add one MO RBS2409-0 into present window, and then click ok.

Other parameters in RBS2000 IDB are not set normally.

b. STN initial setting

Login 1) Local access is achieved through the configuration port, using a PC equipped

with a Telnet client. 2) Remote access is achieved through the Ethernet port, using Secure Shell

(SSH) over IP. 3) Setting IP address in PC in the same range (for example 192.168.1.2)

Note: close firewall in PC

4). telnet 192.168.1.1

STN requests for a username and a password

user: admin

pwd: hidden

The STN presents the STN-CLI prompt

Note: the action of inputting user and PWD must be finished in thirty seconds, otherwise STN should be locked automatically, its hold-time ten minutes.

5). Upgrade SW

Prerequisite:

STN SW: The file with the new software to be downloaded is a .tgz file

Tools : FTP server

STN software is upgraded in a software upgrading session, which includes downloading the software to Random-Access Memory (RAM), then activating it.The getSWSessionStatus command can be used anywhere in the procedure to find out the status and progress of the upgrade.

Commands:

startSWSession s1 downloadSW s1 sftp://lrw:[email protected]/pico_sw.tar.gz getSWSessionStatus s1

Note: “ //lrw:lrw123” is SW file path in FTP server in PC. The downtime is a few minutes.

activateSW s1 ! active new SW after node restart, check node stauts getSWSessionStatus s1 endSWSession s1 uselocalsftp off

Check upgrade result rev pboot set parameter FLASH_ACTIVE_AREA 2 !primary is new vision. pboot save parameters

Restart

6). Backup configuration file

Startsession s1 uselocalsftp on download s1 sftp://lrw:[email protected]/test20120310_CM.xml 30 getSessionStatus s1 uselocalsftp off
