• There can be no magic or fantasy involved in the plot, although there may be very unusual events occurring or even exaggerated characters

• Realistic fiction consists of stories that tell about situations occurring in the real world.
• There can be no magic or fantasy involved in the plot, although there may be very unusual events occurring or even exaggerated characters.
What is Realistic Fiction?
• The events in the story did not truly happen (fiction), but they could happen (realistic).
• Example- In the book Holes the boy being sent away to a camp to dig holes all day may seem farfetched, however based on the world as we know it this could happen.
