We believe in true innovation.

LigaSure™ technology has been used in more than 25 million procedures worldwide.1

The LigaSure™ Maryland jaw thoracic device (LF1930T) is the first and only minimally invasive LigaSure™ device on the market specifically indicated for sealing pulmonary veins and arteries/vessels up to, and including, 7 mm.2

The LigaSure™ Maryland Jaw Thoracic Device

REASONS TO ENERGISE YOUR PROCEDURES

7 Reasons Why you want to bring the Right Energy to your thoracic cases with the Ligasure™ Maryland jaw thoracic device (LF1930T):

1. Reliable hemostasis  For 7 mm pulmonary vasculature, the device also seals and transects adhesions2–8.

2. Better visualization The curved jaw allows for better access, visualization and easy skeletonization of vessels9,10.

3. Access 30 cm shaft designed specifically for access to the thoracic cavity4–8.

4. Effective blunt dissection For dissecting around the recurrent nerve and lymph nodes without causing damage9,11.

5. Cooler jaws Cooler jaw temperature and faster cool down times compared to Harmonic HD1000i™*9,12,§.

6. Multifunctionality The device has the benefits of being a Maryland dissector9,11, one – step sealer13, atraumatic grasper9,11, cold scissors9,13 and it may reduce instrument exchanges9,10 and procedure time9,14.

7. Coated jaws Proprietary nano‑coating on the jaws to reduce sticking9,15,Φ, eschar buildup15,16 and cleanings9,17,Ω.

Harvey Cushing – Neurosugeron and William Bovie – BioPhisical Engineer collaborate in the development of modern dyatermy unit.

Expanding product development, the first portable, solid‑state electrosurgical generator, the SSE1, is introduced into the marketplace.

This technology uses transistors and solid‑state circuitry, replacing the old Bovie™* vacuum tubes and spark gaps.

The first REM™ system is launched, which ensures pad contact by monitoring a patient’s impedance levels. This system automatically deactivates the generator if a change in patient/pad impedance levels occurs, reducing the potential for pad site burns.

Instant Response™ technology is introduced to the operating room in the Force FX™ electrosurgical generator. This smart generator technology uses computer‑controlled output for automatic response to changes in tissue density across all tissue types.

Continuing Valleylab’s history of firsts, the ForceTriad™ energy platform is released, featuring TissueFect™ sensing technology – a control system designed to precisely manage energy delivery, creating a range of options for desired tissue effect. The energy platform combines monopolar, bipolar and LigaSure™ tissue fusion all in one unit.

Continuing to meet surgeon needs, the LigaSure Advance™ instrument combines tissue fusion, Valleylab™ mode tissue dissection energy and sterile‑field power control in one multifunctional instrument for laparoscopic procedures. LigaSure™ Blunt Tip LF1537

The company is founded as a medical products distributor, but soon begins developing “firsts” in electrosurgical products.

In response to surgeon needs, the first reusable hand‑switching pencil is developed, which allows the surgeon to activate the electrosurgical generator by hand. This reduces the fatigue associated with foot‑switching devices.

The same year, the first isolated generator is introduced to the market. By removing the ground as a reference for the circuit and isolating the circuit within the generator, current division and alternate site burns are reduced.

The first microprocessor‑based electrosurgical generator, the SSE4, is introduced to the market. The new unit provides a more intelligent user‑interface.

The first power‑control pencil is introduced, allowing the surgeon to control the generator power from the sterile field.

The next‑generation “adaptive” REM™ system, exclusive to Valleylab, adapts to individual patients and improves the sensitivity to changes in contact impedance levels, increasing the potential for patient safety. The development of PolyHesive™ gel, the first water‑based hydrogel, enhances skin conductivity and minimizes heat buildup in Valleylab patient return electrodes.

The LigaSure™ vessel sealing system, the first energy‑based ligation system, revolutionizes electrosurgery. The system seals vessels and tissue bundles without sutures or clips.

The Force TriVerse™ electrosurgical device is the first monopolar instrument to provide both sterile‑field power control and access to the Valleylab™ mode energy modality. Using preset power bars on the ForceTriad™ energy platform, surgeons are able to make precise power adjustments from the sterile field. In addition, the Valleylab™ mode button provides an additional option – hemostasis with controlled dissection – as well as Cut and Coag.

The LigaSure Impact™ instrument is the first tissue fusion instrument developed to incoporate the TissueFect™ sensing technology provided by the ForceTriad™ energy platform.
